IS YOUR BRAND STORY BURIED, BUSTED OR A BLOCKBUSTER?

THE GIFT OF FACE PLANTING.

It’s no secret that we all have our fair share of “fall-on-our-face” moments - those times when we make mistakes, face embarrassment, or find ourselves in awkward situations.

In my last post “ I WAS ASSAULTED BY GRATEFUL!”, I shared my recent experience in this similar predicament.

But the key - it’s in these moments that we often discover some of life’s most valuable lessons.

Regardless of how awkward, silly, or embarrassed we might feel in those situations, it’s essential to approach them with an open heart and an open mind.

LEARN 🎬
Mistakes and awkward moments are incredible teachers. They show us what went wrong, and what we can do differently next time. Every challenge is an opportunity to gain knowledge.

GROW 🎬
Embracing our imperfections helps us grow as individuals. It’s through adversity that we develop resilience, adaptability, and the strength to overcome future obstacles.

BE GREATFUL 🎬
Gratitude is a powerful force. Even when life seems tough, there’s something to be thankful for in every experience.

It demands that we learn to see through the layers of distraction and intensify our focus to the powerful destiny that is right in front of us.

A lot of us miss it because we are so busy wanting someone else’s life and purpose.

Instead take action, try new things!

Remember as MLK shared, "I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it.”

IS YOUR PASSION FLAWED?

There's a remarkable thing about passion; sometimes it hides in plain sight, masked by our preconceived notions or aspirations we thought were meant for us.

❤️ I REALLY WAS MISGUIDED!

Growing up with a mother as a nurse, I was attracted to the idea of helping people, doing something significant, and being perceived as professional and respected. The white jacket and stethoscope was pretty cool too.

❤️ I WANTED TO BE A DOCTOR!

But then I took high school biology and what a wake up call! My passion was exposed and I did not have the aptitude for that type of science.

❤️ I WAS DISAPPOINTED AND LOST!

The turning point happened when I took a leap of faith and explored a class in communication.

❤️ THEN LIGHTNING STRUCK!

I thrived in the art of crafting words into stories. And that grew into adding pictures and images and creating whole visual experiences that led me to study television production.

❤️ I WAS CHASING A FALSE PASSION!

A FALSE passion (like becoming a doctor) can promise a destination (helping people), but lead you down a difficult path (anatomy, physiology, etc.) resulting in burn out, failure and disappointment.

However, a TRUE passion comes with the promise of an outcome that you deeply desire, but also feeds from your skills, aptitudes and experiences that leads to greater fulfillment.

🥲 TRUE PASSIONS CAN MAKE YOU CRY!

Ultimately, I found my true passion and I am forever grateful for what I discovered.

We have a saying at our agency, Spirit Media, that every touch point will build or undermine your brand.

But there are three things that play a significant role in defining you to yourself and the world.

1- Your GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENTS.

2- Your GREATEST FAILURES.

3- Your PURPOSE AND CALLING.

The press can often create a cacophony of headlines that can require intense management like trying to tame a wild bull.

WHY YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE IMPOSTER SYNDROME!

Impostor syndrome is one of the most common experiences among people, who are stretching to do and become more.

In the television, entertainment and arts world, we see it every day!

Of course, if you want to avoid impostor syndrome, stop trying to stretch and grow and realize your dreams.

And the pain is gone… until you suffer the painful grief of attending the funeral of your dreams and greatest destiny.

Now that is real pain!

But if you want to experience, the exhilarating transformation associated with imposter syndrome, simply embrace this emotional action cycle:

1- FEAR (“I don’t know how to do this.”)

2- COURAGE (“OK, I’m going to give it my best.”)
