Soapbox Cincinnati mourns the passing of Nancy Daly, who was a contributor for us and NKY Thrives since 2020. She was a devoted community journalist throughout her career and was well respected in every office and community she served.
A life celebration will be held Thursday, November 7 at 6 p.m. at First United Church of Christ, 5808 Glenview Ave., Cincinnati. In lieu of flowers, Nancy requested that donations be made to Committee to Protect Journalists, the Knight Foundation Press Freedom Center, or to Soapbox.

According to the 2020 Census, Hamilton County, Ohio - Government County population grew 4.1%, including 3.1% outside Cincinnati. Community development corporations, such as those in College Hill Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation (CHCURC) and Madisonville Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation play a key role in managing productive growth, and architects from Reztark Design Studio and MA Design discuss collaboration and engagement processes.

Plans are underway to revitalize the iconic 20-story Terrace Plaza building downtown, which has been vacant for 15 years. Real estate developer Tony Birkla has purchased the building, and a $10 million grant from the Ohio Department of Development is facilitating removal of asbestos and hazardous waste. Reztark Design Studio is reimagining the site as a mixed-use property. Soapbox Cincinnati looks at Terrace Plaza's past and possible future.
