Today we are excited to publish another beautiful tune from Andy Thompson. Entitled Je Veux Te Dire Je T'Aime which means I want to tell you I love you in French, this medium Samba includes an additional Lead part that already includes great written-out parts for the solo sections (as heard in the recording). Although somewhat fast, these licks are actually much easier than they sound for a spiderweb instrument and are sure to inspire. Check us out at: www.wmusicworks.com

Today we add a new composer to our catalog. Dr. Alexandros Fragiskatos is a percussionist, educator, composer, and arranger and teaches at Denison University. He describes this Soca tune as "spring time with anticipation for summer, bringing feelings of excitement." Includes an optional pan solo as well as a unison full-band section with drumset solo moments. Alex is bringing a small collection of his compositions to WMW, so look for more from him soon!

Today we published a new chart from Patrick Fitzgibbon! I got to meet Patrick in Trinidad in 2015 and we're excited to bring his composition, Kwasi Bruni, to our catalog of pan music. Check it out at: Wmusicworks.com

Patrick Fitzgibbon is a percussionist living in the Detroit area who has made his career performing, teaching and composing. He earned his bachelor's in music performance from Michigan State University, his master's from Oakland University and has studied traditional music in India, Ghana and Trinidad. Patrick regularly performs with many of Detroit's top musicians as well as Rela Percussion, and his steel drum ensemble that performs throughout Michigan. He has released two albums of original compositions; "The Travelers" and “Just Ahead”. Patrick currently teaches world music, percussion, aural skills and Steel Band at Oakland University.

PAN TEACHERS!
There are so many different school steelband situations out there, so we tried to put together a resource to help everyone! Our method book caters to beginners of any age who are learning to read music, but also allows for students in their second or third year to keep honing their skills through practice exercises and musical excerpts taken from actual pan music.

The student books are synchronized so that the teacher can keep everyone playing and easily direct the class toward the right spot. An assignment chart also helps organize the curriculum, but the teacher can certainly adjust what works best for their band. There are options for quick classroom assessments on almost every page but it also works beautifully as a “first five minutes of class” practice drills or warmup resource.
