Found this draft from last year not only with my sweet luna girl (who has passed) but also reflecting on finally coming out as a lesbian. For years and years I considered myself bisexual, but knew I really loved women but just wanted to try to pretend so it would be “easier”. It wasn’t easier—it was so so much harder. Compulsory Heterosexuality or “comphet” is such a BITCH. It really does exist makes you doubt yourself until you finally do the inner work and find your heart. I’m so proud of myself for not doubting myself anymore. I am the happiest I’ve ever been and the most confident I’ve ever felt being truly myself. I still wake up smiling most days because I am in awe of how I finally feel so understood, seen, and have exactly what I wanted for so many years. If you’re out there questioning, dig a little deeper, focus in therapy, and figure it out the best you can. I believe in you 💗 There is so much love and support in this community and I just want everyone to find that sense of belonging if they’ve always felt like an outcast. 💗💗💗
