This time, Joel & Lisa were joined in the studio by George Kurz, the curator of FotoFocus current photography exhibition "Blank Generation, Downtown New York 70's-80's" Blankgeneration.2024. The exhibit is free and open to the public, and can be viewed until Oct 26 at the Michael Lowe Gallery, 905 Vine St. in Cincinnati. A show not to be missed!
Listener Sam from Washington State recently suggested an all- CBGB OMFUG, which Joel & Lisa think is a great idea. They did not exactly do that for this show, but Sam's comment inspired a block of songs from four groups that played CBGB's in 1974 -- 50 years ago. This included early 1974-75 demos from Television, Ramones, and Blondie plus a special more recent recording from an artist who played CBGB in 1974. Joel & Lisa also played old faves & rarities from Richard Hell & The Voidoids, The Carpettes, Wipers Greg Sage & The Wipers, ME262, Wayne County Jayne County , The Corpsicles, Warsaw Joy Division, The Customs, The Screaming Tribesmen, Jim Carroll, The Avengers, The Rezillos, Newtown Neurotics, The Knots, The Tights, Au Pairs, The Times, The Soft Boys, Wild Youth, The Members, Television, Blondie, The Ramones, Binky and the Planets, and The Now.
