How we began

Growing up in the 70’s with severe hemophilia, a bleeding disorder meant many absences from school days which resulted in listening to a lot of talk radio, as well as my parents old 33 1/3 lp’s and watching old movies during the day on television.

I remember my parents talking about growing up during the 1940’s and listening to radio shows like “Escape”, “Lights Out”, and “Suspense”. A trip to the local library procured an interesting find; an Orson Wells “War of the Worlds” record. I was transfixed listening on our old stereo system.

Thus began my obsession with every thing radio. My father fanned the flames of my interests by introducing me to broadcasters in our town and getting me ‘one on one’ tours of the stations in our area. I pursued a broadcasting career in my early twenties and spent many years working at local stations in our area.

As a result over the course of my life I began collecting Old Radio Shows on tape, reel to reels, record albums and cassettes. Then WAV files and MP3’s emmasing over 25,000 programs.
