If someone you know is battling anxiety, depression or other mental health disorders, checking in on them can often make a huge difference. A simple text message, phone call or email could go a long way. Together, we can remind people they’re not alone.

Head down to Washington Park from noon-4pm Saturday, June 8, to support the Cincinnati Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired for their third annual Fun Fest! Try out their new and unique Blindfolded Experiences: blow-up obstacle course, beep baseball and a beep co****le contest to bring awareness to the challenges faced by those with vision loss. This family-friendly event is free to attend and will feature a DJ, food trucks, games, and prizes for kids and adults all afternoon.

Proceeds from this event will help to empower individuals with vision loss in our community.

Stop the stigma, start the conversation. May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and we are here to remind you to make your emotional health a priority. We often drink alcohol to change our mood. Some people drink to deal with fear or loneliness, but the effect is only temporary. When the drink wears off, you feel worse because of the way alcohol withdrawal symptoms affect your brain and the rest of your body. Next time you feel like reaching for the booze, spend some time alone with your thoughts, journal, exercise or call a friend. Together, we can remind ourselves and others that they’re not alone.
