Because who doesn’t love medical glove 🎈 balloons? Taking two kids with developmental “specialities” to the “developmental specialties” DR. Can be a handful. Lots of questions, filling out questionnaires, discussing medical options, these sessions come only yearly but are essential to reevaluate where your children are in their development. Not a ton of answers yet but the boys are still young and lots of growing to do!

Lenny had a fun weekend and has been up since 3 am ready and rearing to go to school. We don’t sleep much over here but we are excited about Monday! Happy Monday!!

Today was Lenny’s first day of 5th grade. His teacher came out after and said “it was a good day and we also had some challenges- BUT your boy is wicked smart. “

God, Now I know why

I didn’t know why….I ran all those miles.

I didn’t know why. I lifted all those weights.

I didn’t know why. I ate all that good food.

I didn’t know why I spent years building and strengthening my body

I didn’t know why I prioritized the health of my body before anything else.

Now I know why-

I know it was because I may have to sprint after my child running into the street.

I know it was because I would have to lift a growing, 90 pound child into and out of a car, or bed.

I know it was to give me the endurance to chase, lift, leap and protect my child.

I know it was to give me the physical and mental strength to keep a strong boy and others out of harms way.

God now I know why I did all that work.

It was to prepare me for this child that has challenged me more than any weight, 8 mile run, plyometric jump or sprint.

You work in mysterious ways but
Your plan is understood.

Now I know why.

It's true, we withrdraw into our own little bubble. If you haven't already started to follow me on my Blog, I would love it if you did. I speak a lot about being strong as a special needs mom, but also about staying strong in faith, being courageous and inspiring others to do the same. Lenny has officially graduated the 4th grade. We are so excited he will be going to a new school within our district next year. We are blessed with the supports we receive. Today was meet mom and dad for lunch to celebrate. I love my handsome little monster. 👹

All kids want “things” for some it’s a car, a new pair of designer shoes, the latest video game/app, a trip.
My kid? He wants Bubbles. Lots of them. All the time.

And when he doesn’t get them, he gets very upset!!! 😭 Autism awareness. Our kids are just like yours but they want more bubbles 🤩🧼🫧

A little Lenny Love and throwback today.
Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month is here.

As we go through this journey year by year I get more and more annoyed by this “month” because although I know the intentions are good behind it- I believe awareness needs to be shared every month.

Some challenges we are facing right now is that Lenny is going to be 10 in a month.

He’s not the “cute little kid” - he’s growing out of the kitten stage into full blow crazy cat!🐈 haha. 🤣 but really he is starting to get bigger and stronger and soon his body is going to change and he will be going through the early stages of puberty and body awareness.

As any parent may struggle with this please keep autistic families in mind as this is a HUGE challenge- as nature will still run its course and doesn’t stop for those who are mentally disabled and who don’t understand the changes they are going through!!! ❤️ it’s going to be a ride I’m sure. Stay tuned and thanks for all the support on our page. We love you.

Mess is working hard with Lenny and obviously he is smarter than we think! Do you see that say smile??? Something tells me we have been doing way too much for Lenny and he is on the cusp of independence!!

Happy Friday! And happy Autism Acceptance Month. I do my best to make everyday a learning opportunity for people who follow us and I also want to make this page a positive look on autism. There is so much gloom surrounding the topic and I’m not going to lie the first decade of Lenny’s life has been more than challenging, a lot of frustration however there has been more bad than good. Autism will test your humanity, your relationships, your marriage, your bank account, your physical body. But the best thing it does? It makes you a fully aware person that your issues and problems and struggles may not be as bad as the next persons. Living with autism builds awareness and character. God has blessed our family with Lenny and he has enriched our lives more than anything in the world.
