Barbara, her cousins, and honestly—the whole street—put so much effort into making the holidays bright for everyone who visits. While we were there, someone had come all the way from Hillsboro, OH, just to experience this amazing display. And here we are, lucky enough to have it right in our own backyard!

Hi, Westside Cincinnati! It’s that time of year again—our 5th Annual Westside Cincy Holiday Yard of the Week Contest is here, and we couldn’t be more excited!

This is YOUR chance to show off your holiday spirit and nominate the most magical, festive yards in our community—whether it’s your own yard or a neighbor’s. Together, let’s light up the Westside and celebrate the season in style!

Starting December 4th, we’ll post nominated yards on our page every Wednesday. Voting happens through likes and reactions, and every Friday, we’ll crown a winner. Each winner will receive:

We couldn’t do this without you!

This contest holds a deeply personal meaning for me. My mom absolutely loved the lights and the holiday season. Some of my fondest memories are of driving around with her and my siblings to admire all the beautifully decorated homes. My mom would start with an enthusiastic "Oooh," and we’d all join in with "Ahhh," laughing together and soaking in the magic of the season.

Sadly, I lost my mom at a young age to a he**in overdose, after years of sobriety. Her struggle is one that so many families face in Cincinnati—and especially here on the Westside. This contest is my way of honoring her memory and the joy she found in holiday lights, while also bringing that same happiness to our community.

This year, we’re also proud to support Weightless Anchor, an incredible local organization providing resources to those in need. Team Thoms will be matching donations up to $1,000—so you can join us in giving back this season.

Let’s light up the Westside together, one yard at a time. Happy Holidays from all of us at Team Thoms and the Westside Cincy community!
