We attended the Board of Zoning meeting tonight. All of the new development projects (Towneplace Suites and Chipotle) received approval tonight. The Towneplace Suites hotel will be located behind Golden Corral and the new Chipotle will be located beside Bob Evans on Western Avenue. Construction should start in the coming months.

The Transportation Review Advisory Council (TRAC) has given the green light for construction of the $30M Bridge Street Improvement Project in Chillicothe. This project will consist of widening the road, adding sidewalks, and improving various intersections. Construction could start as early as the end of 2024 or early 2025.

We have some great news! As mentioned earlier, we said 2023 will be a great year for new development in Chillicothe.

New businesses/development coming to Chillicothe, Ohio:

Towneplace Suites by Marriott plans to build a multi-story hotel behind Golden Corral. It will be located on Shawnee Lane.

Ashley Furniture is coming to Chillicothe! It will be located beside Rural King.

A much needed new subdivision is being built on Plyleys Lane.

Finally, Jersey Mike’s construction has commenced! It won’t be too much longer to get A Sub Above.

We still do not have any updates regarding Jersey Mike’s Subs. It was planned to open by the end of this year, but construction has not commenced at the site in Guernsey Crossing.

Dunkin’ will be opening very soon! We expect the opening date to be in late January, but it could change.

While 2022 was relatively a slow year for growth in Chillicothe, we believe 2023 will be much better regarding new growth in the city. Expect housing, hotel, and retail development. Stay tuned!
