2024 was an incredible year for hurricanes. I had the opportunity to chase Hurricane Beryl in Texas, Debby in Florida and the Carolinas, Francine in Louisiana, Helene in Florida, and Milton in Florida again! The property damage across the outer barrier islands in Florida is devastating.

The lake effect snow is expected to intensify across NE IL/NE Indiana between 5-7pm, with NW Indiana potentially experiencing 1-2”/hr snowfall rates, leading to hazardous travel conditions, reduced visibility, gusty winds up to 35mph, and brief whiteout conditions impacting the I-94/I-65 corridors between Lake and Porter counties. Travelers are advised to exercise caution during the evening commute and into Saturday morning.

Numerous accidents, rollovers, and semi-trucks have been getting stuck on the hills in the far northwest side of Milwaukee, near Allenton and West Bend, this afternoon and evening. The snow is falling heavily at times and blowing around, causing low visibility along I-41 Northbound and Southbound. I have also seen many accidents and slide-offs between Slinger and Allenton, Wisconsin. Please be careful tonight! A winter storm warning is still in effect. .

I had the opportunity to chase Hurricane Beryl in Texas, Debby in Florida and the Carolinas, Francine in Louisiana, Helene in Florida, and Milton in Florida again! Keaton Beach, Florida. This is a before-and-after video. I deployed my surge probe, but it was too dark to see anything during the night. Hurricane Helene was a serious hurricane in 2024.

My #wildest lake effect snow experience of #2024 happened a couple of weeks ago when I chased an intense #lakeeffect #snow band in #Hamburg, #NewYork, which included thunder snow and 55 mph #gusts along the #lakeshore, leading to #whiteout and #blizzard conditions. #NYwx.
