Chicago Chefs Cook for Hurricane Relief Florida with Chef Art Smith

Last night, the culinary community came together at @chicagoqbbq to raise funds for Hurricane Helene relief. Hosted by Chef Art Smith in collaboration with @chicagochefscook, the event supported a cause close to Chef Art’s heart. His hometown of Jasper, Florida, which was severely impacted by the storm, along with many other communities in its path. With over 25% of Jasper residents living below the poverty line, many were left without power, access to fresh water, and faced severe flooding in their homes.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to @wckitchen, which is providing relief across Florida, and @opbbqrelief, who will use the funds to serve hot meals in Jasper.

Clink Fest 2024: A Celebration of Diversity in Wine and Spirits

This past weekend, the @clinkfest took center stage at the Bridgeport Art Center at 1200 W. 35th Street, Chicago. Powered by the Sip & Empower Foundation, this annual Chicago-based wine and spirits event is dedicated to celebrating and amplifying the contributions of women, as well as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) in the industry.
The festival featured an impressive array of wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic options. The vibe was electric, with attendees enjoying both indoor and outdoor spaces energized by two DJs who kept the party alive. The culinary offerings, provided by @chicagochefscook, were equally outstanding, with standout dishes from renowned chefs such as @tigistreda, @sarah.stegner, and @chefdominiqueleach, to name a few.
Clink Fest’s mission is to elevate these wine and spirit brands through increased awareness and education. With less than 1% of wine industry négociants being black women, the event serves as a powerful day of empowerment, inspiring minority women to pursue their dreams and aspirations in an industry where they are vastly underrepresented. Flyover, located at historic Navy Pier, 600 E. Grand Ave., Chicago, is offering a new immersive film experience that takes riders on a stunning journey over Iceland’s breathtaking landscapes. Best known for its epic coastlines, breathtaking waterfalls, and dramatic fjords, Iceland’s natural beauty comes to life in Legendary Iceland, the latest addition to the Flyover attraction.
During a special preview this week, attendees were welcomed by a towering 10-foot troll, a nod to Icelandic folklore, where trolls play a significant role in the country’s
rich cultural heritage.
Visitors to Navy Pier now have two captivating Flyover experiences to choose from. Alongside Legendary Iceland, Believe Chicago, which opened in March 2024, continues to offer a thrilling aerial tour of the Windy City’s iconic sights.

@americanolincolnpark located in the Hotel Lincoln, 1816 N. Clark St., Chicago, recently opened on Tuesday, June 18. The restaurant serves elevated classic dishes including fresh seafood, steak, burgers, and salads. The menu will appeal to a wide range of diners including hotel guests.
The aesthetics of the interior come to life, with green plants hanging from the ceiling. The highlights of the room include the brass rail cocktail lounge, marble bar, and large patio with views of the park. The patio will also be dog friendly, offering pups fresh water & tasty treats.
Some of our favorite dishes included their fresh seafood. For starters, the red snapper ceviche verde served with cilantro, serrano, avocado, olives, and lemon olive oil was divine. The fresh signature oysters Americano were delightful. They were topped with tobiko caviar, soy miso cucumber mignonette, and crispy shallots.
Guests can enjoy signature cocktails like an espresso martini or a glass of wine from the curated wine list. Americano currently offers happy hour, dinner & weekend brunch.

As we sail towards spring, enjoy a romantic dinner cruise on the Chicago River with @citycruises @cityexperiences. The Odyssey Chicago River boat departs from the riverwalk esplanade, just south of the NBC Tower, offering a premier dinner cruise.
Guests will enjoy spectacular city views from the warmth of an enclosed glass boat. Every table offers stunning unblocked views of skyscrapers. Diners will enjoy a three-course meal with delicious selections that are chef prepared on the boat.
The menu features delicious starters like an italian sausage ravioli with crispy pancetta and pecorino romano cheese, as well as a butternut squash & kale salad with a maple sherry vinaigrette. For entrees, choose from four different dishes. We throughly enjoyed the tender demi-glace osso bucco over cauliflower polenta, oyster mushroom, and spicy red cabbage. Another great choice is the Atlantic striped bass over castelvetrano olives, braised cannellini, & fennel. It’s a creative and delicious dish. Make sure to save room for dessert.
Other amenities include a cash bar, professional photographer, and a live dj. There’s a good chance of some dancing, after dinner. The cruise is a unique experience to enjoy the city from a different perspective.
