Here are some extra tips to keep your compost smelling fresh:
😇 Use our Countertop Compost Caddy with air filtration system and compostable liners. This is a stylish and convenient way to keep your bucket odor-free!
☕ Add coffee grounds: Coffee grounds are a natural odor absorber and can help to neutralize unpleasant smells.
🧊 Freeze smelly items: If you're composting meat or fish, freezing them and adding them to your bucket shortly before your service day will help to reduce odors.

Compostable vs. Biodegradable: What's the Difference? 🤔

You've probably seen products labeled "biodegradable" and thought it was a green choice. But hold on! 🛑

Biodegradable is often a misleading term. In the USA, only 60% of a product needs to break down after 180 days to be branded “biodegradable,” which is why many states have passed laws against using the term.

Compostable is the real deal. 🌱 Compostable products break down completely into a nutrient-rich soil amendment. They need to meet strict standards to be acceptable by commercial composters like WasteNot, and must fully break down in 90 days or less without leaving behind any toxins in the soil amendment created.

FACT: 🧐 EVs typically have a smaller carbon footprint than gasoline cars, even when accounting for the electricity used for charging. Plus EVs have no tailpipe emissions! 💚

The pollution created by generating electricity to charge EVs varies widely depending on the electricity source, but even using the most inefficient sources (e.g. coal or natural gas) EVs are responsible for far less carbon emissions than gasoline cars.
