Our fall 2020 cover featured Bergdorf Goodman‘s design director, Mika Raja-Dell'Anno. When Aundre Larrow photographed her (from a safe distance) in the famous Manhattan-based department store in March of that year, New York City had just issued its shutdown order due to the onset of COVID-19.
The shoot took place mere hours before the mandate went into effect, amidst silence that seemed impossible for the city that never sleeps. Not only did Raja-Dell’Anno tell us a fantastic story in her feature, but she also made history with American Builders Quarterly as our first guest to have a cover during COVID-19.
