This event is organized by the non-profit founder Patricia Frontain, who turned her grief over losing her son Patrick to senseless gun violence into a powerful force for good. The community-focused organization uses storytelling and film to promote well-being.

AICP Midwest is proud to support the CHIditarod Freelance Production Team for its 2nd year!

CHIditarod is Chicago’s 100% volunteer-driven epic urban shopping cart race, charity food drive, costumed beauty pageant, talent show, fundraiser, parade, contact sport, and chaos generator. AICP Midwest is looking to build off last year’s successful effort that collected over 350lbs of shelf-stable food and about $3,500 in cash donations. The mobile food drive is celebrating 20 years this year, aiming to break the million-dollar mark raised over its 20-year history.

The AICP MW team also welcomes food donations, which are being collected at various locations around Chicago. The team must collect at least 210 pounds of non-perishable, shelf-stable food items to stock their carts before the event, which takes place on Saturday, March 1. According to the race organizers, peanut butter, canned beans, chili, soup, stew, fruit, vegetables, and canned fish are the most needed items.

Food donations are being accepted at the following locations:

Resolution Studios: 2226 W Walnut St.
Optimus: 161 E. Grand Ave.
Cutters: 515 N. State St. 25th fl.
Pilsen Studios: 2303 W 18th St.
Tessa Films/Quriosity Prods./STORY: 106 N Aberdeen St.

Thanks to Screen Magazine, the fundraiser has already gained recognition regarding the event and urges Midwest Chapter members "to come and cheer the “Save Ferris” team as they hit the streets for their epic second outing."
