Community is powerful. It’s where we find strength, support, and the courage to be seen. 💡

That’s what The Visibility Series by Hispanic Executive is all about—amplifying the voices of Latino and LGBTQ+ leaders who are shaping industries and breaking barriers.

Filmmaker Aitch Alberto understands this deeply. As a writer, producer, and director, she fought for seven years to bring Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe to the big screen, proving that stories at the intersection of Latinidad and q***rness belong in Hollywood.

Visibility starts with community. Let’s uplift these stories together.

Being an ally means uplifting voices, celebrating journeys, and advocating for visibility.

For Kase Peña, storytelling wasn’t just a passion—it was a calling. Born into a Dominican immigrant family in NYC, Kase found her creative spark in the graffiti-covered streets of Inwood. That love for storytelling led her to film school and, eventually, to creating Trans Los Angeles, a series that tells real, powerful stories of the trans community.

🗣️ "We can’t always go to Hollywood for our films; sometimes we need to make our own films ourselves." – Kase Peña

Representation matters—especially when it’s authentic.

Hispanic Executive’s Visibility Series 2025 celebrates six trailblazing storytellers who are redefining what it means to be q***r and Latino. Through their creative genius, they’re breaking barriers and amplifying stories that reflect the richness of our community’s intersections.

But there’s still work to be done:
🎥 Only 6% of LGBTQ characters on primetime scripted broadcast TV are Hispanic/Latino.
🎬 95% of movies from 2014-2022 were missing LGBTQ+ Hispanic/Latino characters.

Together, we can change the narrative. Meet the visionaries leading the charge: https://hubs.la/Q033YsS50

01/23/2025

In summer 2024, the Hispanic Executive team began working on its second Visibility Series focused on q***r Latino visionaries in Hollywood who are bringing authentic storytelling and talent to audiences across America. The series highlights how they artfully bring their own experiences into their work to show the full breadth of what it means to be q***r and Latino.

The series is a close collaboration with guest editor Roman Navarrette, who writes in his letter that not only has Hollywood been called out for its lack of Latino talent in front of and behind the camera but also the numbers of q***r Latinos in Hollywood are even smaller.

Which means tapping into resourcefulness and resilience. This shines through in the stories of:
🎬 Joey Chavez
🎥 Kase Peña
✍️ Aitch Alberto
🎭 Miguel Angel Caballero
🎥 Nancy C. Mejia

Recognizing the LGBTQ+ community has become even more important in the wake of the Los Angeles wildfires and governmental changes. We hope that you not only share the stories of our six Visibility storytellers but also support the LA communities as they recover from the fires in the months to come.
