🇬🇷 Angelina Jolie plays legendary Opera singer Maria Callas with a highly credited Oscar worthy performance in the new movie ‘Maria’. Born Sophia Cecilia Anna Maria Kalogeropoulou on December 2 in 1923, in New York, her family name was later shortened to Callas. Maria dated Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis from 1959 to 1968. The world renown opera singer passed away at 53 in Paris from a heart attack. RIP Maria Callas. The movie ‘Maria’ will be released in select theaters in the United States on November 27, 2024, before streaming on Netflix on December 11.
