Blu 9 Chicago born and raised dj/producer within the ranks of the underground house/techno scene. Djing is more than playing and mixing music. Makes my soul happy.

A trained musician since age six, music has been the forefront and paved the path of her journey. Starting with violin, and followed by percussion and some piano, she benefited from ongoing training and exposure throughout her school aged years, which fueled both her creativity and love for all types of music. Watching family members at a young age spin in the Chicago club scene, starting off on T

echnics and watching how they created the energy of the dance floor, all in the while thinking, “Yes, I want and can do that!”
While the demands of schooling, career, and family took over as it tends to do, music remained a priority focus as she kept close watch over the evolution of her favorite genres, in particular house and techno music. When the time was right, she came back out of background and started to play the music that made her fall in love with the genres. Currently, using music in her daily life with her students she changed the way she thought about and interacted with genres of house and techno music. Using and teaching the soul of it to her special needs students has been a priority and matching music with choreography has been another manifestation of creativity. “The most beautiful sight to watch is my daughter dancing to what we created….beauty.”
Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, she’s played Chicago’s clubs including Spybar, Primary Night Club (Poolhouse), Estate, Fedora Lounge, SC, SSS, Rodan, Crocodile, Studio 200 (Milwaukee) all the while holding a steady residency at Rivers Casino. If you are lucky and the night owl you can see and hear her at various afterhours across the city. Her mixes can also be heard on several radio shows such as Strictly Dance Radio and Underground House TV. Also, she is currently working on projects and tracks with Afterdark Recordings and PhunkJunk Records. Her sound is deep, smooth, and sometimes dark and complex, with soulfulness infused. Depending on her mood, the energy of the dance floor as well as her decision to play the electric violin and drums with her sets shapes and molds the vibe of the room.

I was asked to be a panelist alongside two of my favorite humans Carmen Fiorentino and Orville Harley Kline at the Chicago Electric Music Conference on April 26th at The Ramova Theatre...Thanks to Kai I didn't realize that I have close to 80 some odd releases from originals to remixes since I began producing in 2016 and I still have so much learning to do. Getting it going with some drum n bass track and ending it with one of my favorites. Also included is my homage to old trance with my new track Waiting For You. Have new productions ready to go find homes and excited for music. We need music right now and creativity, self expression is so important right now during what may be some dark times ahead.

Perfect Sunday in to lay low. Sorry everyone if I am not out and about much. I am laying low until the holidays are over with and gearing up for Grammys 😍 Working on more new music and mixes. Plus, this is my first Grammy experience and have no idea wtf to expect. So this leaves me with another question. My friends who are stylists: Who wants to style me for the Grammys????? I'd love to represent Chicago!

We are about 3 weeks post election and my stance has not wavered...not an inch. If you voted for that horrible excuse of man:
If you are a DJ , I stop supporting and working with you.
If you are a promoter/venue owner, I will not play for you.
If they are a partygoer, I am not inviting you or don't come.
I do not reward bigotry, racism, sexism, or hatred. We remove it from our space for the sake of protecting the oppressed and vulnerable.
Also, turning a blind eye is just as bad imo. I will continue to fight for you even though you probably won't do the same for me.
