I OVERHEARD MY HUSBAND SAY, "MY WIFE'S COOKING AND CLEANING TOILETS WHILE I'M HERE WITH YOU, MY LOVE."
Brian had a "work party." He was unusually sweet that morning, handing me his favorite shirt to iron. "And while I'm gone," he added smugly, "make my favorite lasagna and clean up the bathrooms. You know I like the place spotless."

Charlie was angry: he wanted to know what his mom had planned. When she drove away, he tiptoed into her bedroom and took her laptop, and opened her email.
There was a weird mail confirming a delivery scheduled for his birthday. There were 14 more planned — one every year...for the next 15 years.
"What the...?" he muttered.
Confused, he dug deeper, eventually finding an address for some storage unit. In her drawer, there was a key labeled with an address. So, he jumped up and rushed out of house.

Since my new neighbor Lisa moved in, life became a nightmare. One day, I looked out of my son Jake's window, and there they were — Lisa's panties flapping in the wind like flags. I was horrified. So, there I was, waiting at the airport to surprise my husband and join him on his business trip to France. I had it all planned out, ready for a romantic getaway. But then I spotted him... and let's just say, surprise plans were canceled.
He was holding hands with another woman. "Brian!" I shouted. He turned around, eyes wide, and immediately dropped her hand. "Ava, what are you doing here?" he stammered.
"I wanted to surprise you, and spend time together in Paris," I managed to say. But instead of joy, I got a cold response. "This isn't a good time, Ava. It's a business trip," he snapped, snatching my ticket and ripping it apart. "And before you go making assumptions, she's just a colleague. Go. Home."
I stood there, crushed. "I thought we were trying to fix things," I whispered, tears starting to form.
