I had the pleasure of meeting the one and only Elisa of Elisa’s Cake by the , and she blessed me with one of her King Cake’s. King Cake is a sweet treat celebrating the coming of the Three Wise Men bearing gifts on the Twelfth Night. This Mardi Gras tradition of King Cakes occurs January 6th-February 13th. You may find a small plastic baby in your King Cake, symbolizing the Christ Child. If you find the baby in your piece of cake, you’re expected to host the next King Cake Party and bring the sweet treat.

This was my first time trying King Cake and it was delicious! The cake is extremely sweet and is an AUTHENTIC representation of what King Cake should taste like. I shared my cake with family, who also enjoyed eating it and learning the history of the King Cake. Hit up Elisa’s Cake by the if you’re in need of dessert catering or a custom cake order. I had the absolute pleasure of finally meeting the one and only Kim Fields for the first time at the Ultimate Women’s Expo this past weekend. Kim was showcasing her Signature Blends by KF and gave a wonderful keynote speech. Kim has motivated me even harder to do things differently in Q4 to accomplish my goals during this last stretch of 2023. Chicago Restaurant Week has got a hold on me this year. I made a stop at Nisos in the West Loop and I was blown away. From their breathtaking decor to their fantastic menu they really hit it out the park. A 4-course meal is $59 and I was full by the end of my meal. If you are driving there add extra time for parking because it can be tough finding a spot. Otherwise valet is $25. CRW ends February 5th so make sure to make a reservation if you want to experience it! Nisos Mediterranean

📍New restaurant alert! Hokkaido Evanston has recently opened in downtown Evanston and you’ll be sure to want to check out their delicious, authentic Japanese food. They are a ramen and sushi bar restaurant that have a warm ambiance to them. If you know me you may know that I love Japanese food. I was so happy to find that we have a new ramen and sushi bar in town. I was in awe by their presence right when I stepped inside to find their intricate ceilings, beautiful chandeliers, and lovely artwork on the walls. I loved my food and can’t wait to return so I can try their sushi and full bar. Since Hokkaido Evanston is in their soft opening phase, the sushi and full bar will be coming soon. Make sure to follow Hokkaido Evanston for updates on when the bar and sushi will become available. Hokkaido Evanston is a great addition to downtown Evanston!

Staycations are the absolute best! Hotel EMC2 was an excellent choice for my weekend staycation. The property is a boutique hotel, part of the Autograph Collection through Marriott Bonvoy. The hotel has an art and science theme to it. The room was very clean, spacious for a King sized room, beautiful shower, Netflix ready, great city views, has a restaurant (The Albert), and even boasts two robot concierge- Cleo and Leo! If you’re in Chicago, Hotel EMC2 is a wonderful hotel to stay in the Streeterville neighborhood. Room tour coming soon. Do you enjoy staycations? Hotel EMC2, Autograph Collection

[SAVE & SHARE] HOSTED | During my first trip to Madison, I had the pleasure of staying at The Madison Concourse Hotel & Governor’s Club. I enjoyed being on the Governor’s Club level because I could take advantage of all the perks. I was happy to find a nice bar, convenient quick meals already prepared for guests' consumption, and the views may have been my favorite experience of all. The proximity of the hotel to the Capitol Building is spectacular. My room was clean, I had all my gadgets to hook up my laptop to stream some movies during my downtime, and the staff was very friendly.
