**FIGHTING TO THE DEATH – CHP 34 – What next with the ship? **
“Everyone, make sure that there is no one hiding anywhere in this ship. Move around and be careful.” Dickson told his men.
Dickson then turned to the man who had said is a captain and told him, “Figure out how to control this thing. Get us out of here.”
“Alright boss.” The man said and immediately began checking around the control room. Everything was electronic. The captain first located the chart plotter. However, it had been switched off. The captain tried to power it on but it required a password to power on.
Dickson looked at how puzzled the captain looked and asked, “Any problem?”
“Yes, the chart plotter is password protected and I am unable to power it on beyond here.” the man said.
Dickson caressed his beards which had grown all over his face and said, “Man, that is your work, figure that out. Let us secure the ship first and be sure there are no threats.”
Dickson left the captain with the Viking guy in the control room to figure out how to control the ship. They quickly went all around the ship. There were people in the ship but they had all surrendered. They seemed to fear Dickson and his gang. The fact that everyone had large beards due to being in the mysterious island for long without shaving made them look so intimidating.
Dickson held one of the men in the ship who was kneeling down at one of the rooms as told and said, “You people brought us here to kill each other. You wanted us to participate in some games of death. Now, it is up to you to participate in the games of death.”
Dickson looked at his men and told them, “Lead everyone to the deck, now.”
Everyone was taken to the deck above and made to kneel down.
Elsewhere, the captain continued to figure out how to control the ship but was not making any progress.
The sun rose slowly from the eastern horizon. Dickson was able to see clearly the people they had at the deck. The woman who Dickson had taken notice of was also on the deck looking so dejected. It was when Dickson recognized her as one of the women who tortured him. She was the one in charge of the vampire women.
“Oh! I get who you are now. The woman who made me suffer in the detention camp. Now, woman, you are in for it with me. You are under me now. I will make you suffer and die a painful death.” Dickson told the woman as he approached her. He held her head and shook it violently before throwing her to the ground.
Dickson then looked at everyone and asked, “Now, does anyone know how to power on this ship?”
No one talked.
“Ok, I see no one wants to talk.” Dickson said. He then picked 2 random men and told them, “Come with me.” He made the men to stand away from the rest.

“Now, I want a fight from the 2 of you, a good fight. The winner kills the loser, the loser dies.” Dickson said.
The men looked at each other. “Ok, I get that you won’t fight.” Dickson said as he walked towards one of the men. He took a knife and suddenly slit one of the men’s throat by swinging the knife violently in front of the man. The man held his throat as he began to bleed. Some of his blood came out of his mouth.
“I am not here to joke. You tell me how to start this ship, or, I will kill all of you. In fact, this one has died a better death, let me show you how we will kill the rest.” Dickson said as he turned towards his men.
“Get some strong ropes.” Dickson commanded 2 men.
After a while, 2 strong ropes were availed. “Tie his legs, one rope on one leg, the other rope on the other leg.” Dickson commanded.
Both legs were tied, each rope tying around the ankles tightly. Dickson then picked 2 of his strongest men and told them, “Pull in the opposite, keep pulling until the man is divided into 2.”
“Alright boss.” The men said. They threw the man to the floor, held the 2 ropes and began pulling hard. For a while, it appeared like the man could handle it. However, his hip joints snapped making the man scream. His legs began to pull apart literally. His ankles got distorted. As if that was not enough, Dickson grabbed a sledgehammer and threw it towards one of his men.
“Smash his testicles.” Dickson said.
The man with the sledgehammer went over the man who was now on the ground screaming, swung the sledgehammer hard and smashed it on the man’s private parts. The man screamed until he began to foam from his mouth. The guy with the sledgehammer was like enjoying the whole show as he laughed like a maniac and proceeded to smash the sledgehammer onto the man’s legs all over breaking the man’s bones entirely.
Dickson looked at the man swinging the sledgehammer and said, “finish him slowly.”
The man swung the sledgehammer hard aiming for the arms. The hammer hit the man’s fingers so hard such that 2 fingers were completely torn off the arm. The man however fainted from the pain.
“There you have it.” Dickson told the kneeling people, “If you do not cooperate, we will kill all of you, one by one, until we are done.”
Dickson then moved around looking at the men kneeling down. He held one of the men in the chin and asked him, “What is your name?”
The man replied, “Dickson.”
“From?” Dickson asked.
“From France.” The man replied.
“Do you have a wife and children?” Dickson asked the man while holding him by his neck.
“Yes, 2 kids.” The man said.
“Do they know that their father is a mafia somewhere?” Dickson asked the man.
“No.” the obviously scared man said.
“Ok, I am sure that they also don’t know that their father is a living dead somewhere.” Dickson said, thinking of what to do with the man.
Some silence followed. Dickson looked around and said, “Until you people tell us how to control this ship, I am going to kill you one by one.”
Dickson then pointed at one of his men and told him, “Get a knife and a razorblade. We are going to skin Dominic alive.”
After a few minutes, the man returned with 2 knives and a razorblade. “Tie him up, secure him firmly.” Dickson commanded his men.
Dominic was tied and secured on some guard rails on the deck. Dickson took one of the knives, held it over Dominic’s right eye and said, “Do you see this? This is a knife, and the work of a knife is to cut.”
Dominic began to cry. Dickson laughed and said, “Cry all you can, but, we are only giving you a dose of your own medicine.”
Dickson placed the knife on the man’s forehead, slowly sliced the forehead across making the man begin to bleed. Some blood spilled over the man’s eyes making him look like he was crying tears of blood. Dickson then proceeded to peel off some skin from the man’s forehead as 2 of Dickson's men held Dominic’s head firmly.
The skin peeled over the man’s eyebrows. Someone somewhere vomited from seeing what was happening. But Dickson’s men were so excited with whatever was happening such that they were giggling and chuckling.
Dickson pointed at the man with the razorblade and told him, “Take over, peel off his skin entirely. If he does not stay still, stab his right eye with the knife.”
One of the kneeling men suddenly got up. He ran towards one of Dickson’s men while saying, “I did rather die fighting than be killed here like a sheep.”
However, the man he ran towards tackled him to the ground violently, pushed him hard onto the metallic surface, held his head and smashed it over and over onto the metallic surface while roaring. Even as it was apparent that the man was dead, he continuously smashed the man’s head onto the metallic surface until the entire skull was cracked open.
Blood was now flowing freely. As if that was not enough, the Dickson’s guy that killed his attacker went to the floor like a predator, smelt the blood that was flowing, sniffed it, growled and then touched the blood and smeared it all over his head. He then stood up looking like a demon, faced the kneeling people and said, “Whoever wants to die, just come to me, run to your death. We are here to play the games of death as it was intended.”
Dickson looked at the bloodied man and said, “Whoever moves, kill him.”
Dickson then turned to the kneeling people and said, “Until you people tell us how to start this ship, we will kill you one by one. We did rather remain here on board this ship without you to die here.”
Dickson saw one of his men holding a bottle of beer and asked him, “Where did you get that?”
“Somewhere below.” The man said and sipped some more.
“Ok, check around for more, bring it here and let us celebrate. We are going to have a bloody party here today.” Dickson said.
“Check for food too, I am hungry.” Another man said.
“Check for anything else that is of use. But bring the beer and food first if there is. I am sure there is. If there is no food, we will slaughter these people and eat them.” Dickson said as he walked around intimidating the kneeling people even more. It did not bother Dickson at all that the kneeling people were more than his own.

FIGHTING TO THE DEATH – CHP 33 – Dickson takes over a ship**
“Alright, keep moving.” Dickson said.
They all got submerged and continued. The flood light illuminated them once more but whoever was in control did not know that there were people coming towards the ship in a raft made to look like some sea w**ds.
Finally, they got where the ship was, right under it. They were careful to go right to where the anchor was and carefully tied their raft onto it so as not to lose it. The shark was still circling them as if it was ready to attack but it simply did not attack.
Chao volunteered to go up the anchor chain. He was the most agile amongst them. He tied some weapons onto himself, including knives and a small gun ready to go up the ship and find a way to help the rest get on top fast.
Chao scaled the anchor. It was slippery but as long as he could push his legs in the joints of the huge chain, and using a knife to also help him to hold onto the joints, he went up slowly until he reached the deck of the ship. He slowly and carefully got into the ship through the anchor hole and lay there to relax for a while and to catch his breath.
The rest waited anxiously, ready to swing into action like pirates of Caribbean taking over a ship full of treasure.
Luckily for Chao, he saw a rope lying on the ground. There were some gunmen moving around and he waited for them to disappear behind some boxes before quickly going for the rope. He lowered the rope through the anchor hole, tied it to a strong metallic base so that the rest could climb.
Dickson saw the rope and told them, “Go, I will come in last.”
They got climbing fast under cover of the darkness. One by one, they got to the deck totally undetected. Dickson was the last to climb. Anyone who got onto the deck lay down flat to avoid being seen, and to catch their breaths.
Once they had sufficiently relaxed, Dickson motioned them that it was time to slaughter. He indicated that they were to first kill anyone they came across. He also motioned them to try and be as silent as possible.
Dickson led the way. He went around the bridge of the ship. He moved stealthily and carefully, as silently as possible. He held his knife firmly in his hand. He did not intend to use a gun as that would easily announce their presence.
Dickson saw someone patrolling with an AK 47 rifle. He waited for him to come around the corner. He suddenly grabbed him, covered that man’s mouth, pushed him hard against the solid metallic wall before slicing his throat instantly. Dickson then pushed the man down, used the man’s clothes to wipe the blood in his blade before slowly standing up.
Elsewhere, The Viking guy moved around the deck hiding behind some large boxes. He was holding his massive spear. The first man he got, he held him against the wall hard with his spear, strangling him and breaking the man’s neck by pushing the spear hard against the man.
Chao also moved slowly with a long knife. He went around a large box full of ammunitions and came face to face with an armed man. Before the man could do anything, Chao drove his knife into the man’s mouth before pushing him to the ground.
The rest also moved stealthily and swiftly killing anyone they came across. It was obvious that in the ship, they never expected anyone to make that far and attack them. Even the personnel responsible for the ship’s security for some reason had shut down the sensors in order to save power, which made it possible for Dickson and his gang to get in undetected.
Dickson located the steel staircase that led to the control room and the command center. He was joined by the Viking guy and the captain who was going with the Viking everywhere for his own security. Their idea was to first seize the controls, prevent the ship from going anywhere before thinking of how to get out of there.
However, they had not gone up the staircase when an alarm suddenly sounded. Someone had detected their presence. Gunshots broke the silence. Dickson had no way of knowing if it was one of his men shooting or the gunmen in the ship.
“Come on, let us move fast!” Dickson told the Viking.
However, as they tried to go up the staircase, someone shot towards them making them jump to avoid being hit. One of Dickson's armed men shot the man who was shooting Dickson killing him on the spot before saying, “Clear!”
They got back to the staircase which led into one level of the bridge before another smaller staircase branched up towards the bridge. However, there was a strong glass door that prevented Dickson and his men from going up to the control room and the command center.
More shootings could be heard. They were now aware that their ship was under attack and they were doing everything to secure it.
Chao kicked one of the gunmen hard until he flew overboard, fell into the sea below where a shark immediately attacked him and tore him into pieces.
Dickson saw a man standing behind the glass door confidently. He fired several rounds from his gun. The man however mockingly said, “Bullet proof, mother fu**er, you are trapped!”
The Viking guy looked at Dickson and then told him, “Step aside.”
Dickson stepped aside. The Viking guy stepped a few steps backwards, aimed his spear towards the door and launched the spear so hard from his hand. He even roared as he threw the massive spear. Veins popped all over him making him look like a monster.
The spear hit the bullet proof glass door shattering it into numerous pieces. The spear even went through the man who confidently stood behind the glass door such that its other end emerged behind the man’s back.
Dickson wasted no chance. He ran fast past the destroyed door. The Viking guy went for his spear, pulled it violently from the man before kicking him away. “My spear is my everything.” The Viking guy said as they accessed the smaller, steep and narrow staircase that led towards the command center.
Another metallic door that had been closed tight prevented them from moving forward. The Viking guy used his spear to dislodge the door’s hinges. Dickson kicked the door which flew open. He then turned towards the Viking guy and told him, “Thank you.”
A gunman came with a gun towards them, aimed and fired. His gun however jammed. The captain went for the gunman, kicked him hard against the wall but the Viking guy pulled the captain away and said, “Preserve your energy, mate, we need it to get the f**k out of here.”
“He is right.” Dickson told the Captain, “Let us do the rest.”
The Viking killed the gunman with single slap which completely disfigured the man’s face.
Finally, one door stood between them and the command center. The Viking guy tried to break it with his massive spear unsuccessfully for a while. He struggled and got sweating until he said, “This one won’t open.”
Suddenly, Dickson got an idea. He fetched 2 of the wristbands that were still unused and said, “We will use this.”
They got a metal bar and used it to pinch the wristbands against one corner of the door. They then got a rope, tied it to the metal bar that was now holding tightly against one end which had the wristbands, tied it, moved to hide behind a metallic pillar before they pulled hard. the metal bar snapped instead and the wristbands fell down. Nothing happened.
“Now what?” Dickson asked.
The Viking guy seemed to think hard and then said, “I am sacrificing my spear.”
“Really?” Dickson asked.
“Yes, let us tie it against the bands.” The Viking said.
They tied the wristbands against the sharp edge of the spear, pressed the spear hard against the edges of the narrow way, with Dickson and the Viking using all their strengths to push the spear in place. They then tied a strong rope, moved behind the metallic pillar and got pulling. The Viking motioned the captain to move away. He did not want the captain getting blown in case things went horribly wrong.
They pulled hard for a while until their muscles were aching. Then, the bands broke. The resulting explosion blew the door off its hinges but due to the explosion being in an enclosed space, the resulting shockwave knocked down both Dickson and the Viking guy. The captain had moved to hide at a lower level. He quickly went up and found Dickson and the Viking lying down.
The Viking guy was the first to get up. He yanked Ni**od up, gave him a few slaps while saying, “Wake up, dude, you are not yet dead.”
Dickson regained full consciousness. They dashed past the blown out door.
The everyone’s surprise, the spear was still intact. It only had a few scratches but it still was full. “MY God! What did you use to shape this spear?” the captain asked the Viking.
“Come on, let us now take full control of the ship.” Ni**od said as they accessed the control room. They found a few unarmed people.
“Tie them, hold them hostage, they might be of use to us.” Dickson said while moving around the command center.
“You cannot navigate this.” One of the men told Dickson mockingly.
“We will figure out how to do it, or, we will make you do it.” Dickson said.
The captain looked around. He appeared confused. He then looked at the people they had taken hostage and asked, “Where is your captain?”
“He is dead. That is why we are still here. He was the one who could handle this ship.” One of the men said.
“How did he die?” Dickson asked.
“He suffered from a heart attack.” The man replied.
Dickson looked at the man who was replying. However, he noticed something with the other person. The chest. He asked, “Is that a woman with you?” Dickson even went over, tore the person’s sweater and shirt. Sure enough, it was a woman. Dickson held the woman’s face to face him. The face looked familiar. He could not remember where he saw the face. “I will come back to you, let us first figure out how to control this piece of sh*t.”

**FIGHTING TO THE DEATH – CHP 32 – Plan to go for the ship**
A few days passed with no fights. Some relative calm had returned on the island. However, they could still see the ship that was docked somewhere in the sea. There was no way of knowing why the ship was still there.
The few men who had survived with Dickson were now together.
“I suspect that these people have been abandoned. Maybe they have tried calling for back up but cannot get back up.” One of the men told Dickson.
“My thoughts now are how we can get to that ship.” Dickson said.
The guy who could see the furthest looked towards the sea and said, “The ship is about 7 kilometers from the shore. There is no way of getting there unless we use boats. You cannot swim that far.”
Dickson looked at the ship from a tree, looked at the guy who was also seated on another branch and said, “We will make a raft. Let us at least try. The monster does not seem to help us. His focus is on the island and nothing beyond. The whispering people have retreated to their hiding places and we are now somehow on our own.”
Dickson looked at some of his wounded men. Some looked demoralized. “Maybe they even have reported that they have killed all of us.” Dickson said.
“Yes, but the ship is still there, meaning they still are thinking of coming back to finish what they started. Or, they are asking for a bigger war plane to come and bomb this place.” One of the men said.
Another said, “Remember, when we stopped playing their games of death, they decided to kill us since they had lost their bets. Maybe they are also planning on coming to look for survivors, capture us and take us back to Russia.”
“Hell no! I am not going back to Russia. I am going home. Come on, let us make a raft that can take us to that ship.” Dickson said.
“Chances are, we will encounter resistance, perhaps meet people with machine guns waiting for us.” Another said.
“I did rather die trying something than doing nothing. If we stay here, we will die. The whispering people are already tired of us and should they turn their monsters against us, we are done.” Dickson said, “Come on, let us at least try.”
“I have another idea.” Chao, who was still surviving said.
“What idea?” Dickson asked.
The Viking guy looked at Chao and said, “Your idea had better work.”
“Ok, my idea is, we can make that raft, but cover it with grasses and sea w**d. Then, we look for barks that can be made into breathing pipes. We shall push the raft into the water, get under it and swim towards the ship while using the breathing pipes. We shall do that at night. That means, they shall not see us and shall perhaps assume it is just some sea w**d moving around. That way, we can approach the ship silently, climb on board and take over.” Chao said.
“Man! I like your idea!” The Viking said.
“Yes, we can slowly move under the raft, or whatever it shall be, that way, we do not risk being blown into pieces by those motherfu**ers.” Chao said.
Another said, “Some of us are not so good in swimming.”
Dickson, who sat next to the guy who said he was not good in swimming, patted his left shoulder and said, “You will have to know how to swim. Come on, let us try to get the hell out of here.”
They got to the forest and got busy making a raft. They used tree branches, twigs, leaves, barks, grass and anything that could make it as disguised as possible. They then made some breathing pipes from tree barks long enough to have inside their mouths while under the raft and be able to breath as the steer the raft towards the ship.
“Make it as light as possible.” Dickson told them.
Night fell and they stopped working as the raft was not yet ready.
The following morning, they resumed working and made a raft that was 6 meters long and 3 meters wide. It was sufficiently covered with grass on top, leaves and made to easily look like some sea w**d. They tried their breathing pipes to see if they would be able to use them to breath.
“We now wait until sunset, then move this through the forest to the sea. From there, we swim under it while holding onto it.” Dickson told them.
“I am scared of water.” Another man said, “But, I will have to go with you.”
“Protect the captain.” Dickson told them.
The Viking guy said, “I will be his body guard. If he dies, I should be dead.”
“Good.” Dickson said.
At around 9 pm, when it was so dark with dark cloud cover, Dickson and the men slowly and silently moved with the raft through the trees towards the sea. They heard the roar of the monster from a distance but were no longer bothered with it.
“Where did these whispering people go?” one of them asked, “They could have helped us.”
“Maybe they decided to hide rather than expose their entire tribe to unnecessary deaths.” Dickson said.
“It is like they are not here at all!” another man said.
“That is why they are unknown to the rest of the world.” Dickson said, “They have managed to be hidden all along. Come on, stop talking now, let us take this to the sea.”
They took turns carrying the raft. Others remained on the lookout for anything that might threaten their safety.
The paths through the forest were difficult to navigate but they eventually made it to the shore of the island. The tide was high and the water had come so close. They walked into the water with the raft and slowly placed it inside the water. From a distance, the ship was visible as it had some lights still on. There was also someone who was rotating a huge flood light around the water as if to check for any incoming threats.
“Now, guys, we get under this. Hold on to your weapons. Use your entire strength to swim with your legs and one arm. The raft will also act like a giant floater. Hold on to it. Some of us are injured, help them. When we get there, we will use anything to go up to the ship, probably via the anchor. Once inside, be ruthless, be a killer. They are here to kill us, so, we kill them.
If possible, take some hostage, they might be of use to us later. We take over the ship and then figure out how to get out of here.” Dickson said.
As if to confirm that all men heard, Dickson walked in front of them, looked into their eyes silently and once done, he said, “Guys! Let us do this!”
They walked into the water slowly and silently until they were submerged. They held onto their breathing pipes and once they got under the raft, they pushed the pipes above the water. Dickson was able to breath using the long pipe easily using his mouth like someone snorkeling.
There was no way of confirming if everyone else was ok. Dickson assumed all were ok. He also hoped that there were no sea creatures or monsters to attack them. None had talked about it.
Slowly, they got moving, kicking their legs swiftly inside the water, holding onto the raft and using one arm to swim. The water was cold but that did not stop them from moving on.
As they moved through the dark, they saw the light directed to them for a while before it moved away. Dickson knew that the people on the ship knew about the possibility of someone swimming towards the ship.
The waves were rocking the raft gently. They were not very strong but were being enough to move them up and down in rolling motions.
Dickson found himself saying a silent prayer. He also hoped the rest were also doing the same. At that moment, they needed to have maximum faith in their efforts to survive and to rescue themselves. They continued moving towards the ship, sometimes the waves slowing them down.
Dickson began to feel tired. His muscles were aching from having to swim so hard while holding onto the raft that was shielding them from view from above. It was like everyone was getting tired. They were slowing down significantly.
Suddenly, someone swam away and surfaced before saying, “Guys, let us rest a bit.”
Dickson heard him, swum and surfaced. He held onto his breathing pipe, looked at the guy and said, “It is dangerous to stop here. If that huge light turns towards us, they will see us and know we are going. We cannot stop here. Get under that raft and keep going.”
The man sighed hard. Dickson looked at him in the dark and said, “Get under the damn raft and that is an order!”
The man simply obeyed, got under the raft, held onto his position and continued swimming. They got closer and closer towards the ship.
Suddenly, they heard some splashing right ahead of them startling them and making many of them surface to see what it was. Then, they saw it, a huge fin moving right in front of them. Dickson tried to recall where he had seen such even in movies and the only movie that came into mind was JAWS movie.
“What is this?” someone asked almost whispering.
“A shark.” Another said, “This must be a shark, but, let us keep on moving. Whoever lives, lives, whoever dies, dies.”
They had come too far to turn back. They had covered more than half the distance between land and the ship. “God help us.” One of the men said as he slowly got under the raft into his position to continue going towards the ship.
All over, it was very dark.

FIGHTING TO THE DEATH – CHP 31 – The gunship in action**
The mighty gunship flew over them, circled and as if it knew where exactly they were, it began spraying the forest with a hail of bullets from above. Dickson took no chances. He dove under a rock and squeezed himself under the rock feeling the bullets missing him by inches. He saw one of the whispering men get shredded into pieces by the hail of bullets that hit him. Another got his entire head ripped off by the bullets.Dickson’s men took cover under the rocks as the gunship flew over them. The gunship then went on to spray bullets into other sections of the forest but at the same time, it dropped bombs right where Dickson was hiding. The resulting explosion scattered everything and everyone. Dickson felt himself rolling with rocks all over him. When they finally settled, Dickson lay on the ground. He was bleeding almost all over. He however considered himself lucky that he had no broken bone.
Dickson looked around. Some of his men lay dead or dying. The whispering men were not spared either. So many of them died.
“Sh*t!” Dickson told himself, “There is no way of winning against this.”
“I told you, this is the real monster of the skies.” Another man said while coughing blood.
“They are angry with us for not participating in their games of death. They have also realized that these forests have dangerous people. They have now sent this to finish us.” Dickson said while looking at the gunship spreading terror all over the island.
The gunship went spraying bullets from the sky. They could hear sounds of its guns like some rapid winds blowing over a narrow edge. The gunship was literally whistling as its guns sprayed bullets from its nozzles, spraying thousands of bullets in seconds.
It was also dropping bombs, firing small rockets completely flattening some sections of the forest. Dickson had never seen such a thing in action. It looked like a giant evil bird spreading death across the island. Unlike the helicopters which they could ambush from high rising cliffs, this one was fast thus making it impossible to ambush it.
Dickson even thought of the monster but told himself, “The monster cannot defend itself against such. It will be destroyed in seconds.”
However, the whispering people were not giving up. They gathered in large numbers and got ready with arrows and spears. They even came with huge catapults. As the gunship circled around, the whispering people ran towards a high Table Mountain and waited there for the gunship. To them, it was just a giant bird which had come to disrupt the peace of their mysterious kingdom.
Dickson and the few men who were still alive followed the whispering men. The gunship went around and came back spraying bullets all over. Dickson hid under a rock. The whispering people whoever responded with their arrows, spears and rocks. They however could hardly get the gunship.
From the gunship, they could not even see who was throwing the arrows, the spears and the rocks. The whispering people were perfect in camouflaging themselves in the trees making it impossible to see them. They assumed it was the men participating in the games of death shooting with arrows. The gunship opened fire spraying where they could see the arrows coming from. The gunship was however careful not to go any closer.
Dickson watched as many whispering men fell. The bullets were cutting them into pieces. The giant catapult could not even throw any rock anywhere near the gunship.
Dickson suddenly heard the roar of the monster and from how it sounded, it was approaching. Dickson looked at the forest below and saw some trees moving out of the way as the monster made its way towards the Table Mountain.
When it got to the mountain, it looked at Dickson who was hiding then looked towards the skies facing the gunship. Dickson ran towards the monster and then, he began motioning it to take the giant catapult. Dickson knew with its strength; it could perhaps throw a rock mile away. The monster looked at Dickson for a few seconds and then, it followed Dickson.
Dickson led the monster to where the giant catapult was. He motioned the monster what to do. The gunship was turning around as it had already seen a threat over there and it wanted to completely annihilate anyone who was there.
The monster roared as the gunship approached.
Inside the gunship, they saw the monster. The pilot wondered: what the f**k is that?
The monster got hold of the catapult, placed a huge rock on its bucket, pulled the arm of the catapult stretching the makeshift spring made of flexible spiraling trees to the maximum such that it appeared like the catapult would collapse. As the gunship approached, the monster released the arm. The spring snapped back forcefully. The huge bucket made of intertwined stems flew from its position with its huge rock the size of a drum.
The rock travelled through the air at great speed. The gunship never saw it coming. The rock smashed the left wing of the AC 130H gunship. The wing broke and the gunship lost its 2 engines attached to the wing. The gunship however kept on approaching. It was apparent that it was going to crush any moment.
“Run! Run!” Dickson shouted at anyone who could hear him.
The monster saw the approaching gunship as it came towards them with its entire left side on fire. When it saw Dickson and his few remaining men running, it also ran with them.
The gunship crushed on top of the Table Mountain and exploded. As if that was not enough, the monster went to a rocky section of the mountain, began picking large rocks and throwing hard towards the exploding gunship.
“My God! You can now command a monster to follow your orders!” the man with Dickson said.
“Yes, but I am sure this gunship has killed so many of us.” Dickson said.
Sure enough, due to its speed and having a lot of weapons, the gunship had managed to kill over a 500 within that short timeframe. Almost the entire army of Dickson was dead. Many whispering people were dead.
As the aircraft burnt on top of the mountain, Dickson cautiously approached. However, there was absolutely nothing of use from the crushed aircraft. It was impossible to know how many people were in it.
The monster also approached the burning aircraft with eyes full of anger. It looked around as if searching for anyone alive to unleash its anger on. Dickson noticed the monster was also bleeding and it was in pain. The monster slowly sat down breathing heavily. It was really panting. It also appeared to be in so much pain.
Dickson approached the monster. It looked at him as if telling him to keep off. However, Dickson knelt down in submission, stretched his arm as if to bump fists with the monster. The monster looked at Dickson for a while, stretched its arm and folded a giant fist. Dickson and the monster bumped fists. The monster was so strong and it had to be very gentle with Dickson.
Dickson then told his surviving men, “Come, let us know if anyone is still alive out there.”
The Viking guy was alive but wounded. He had been shot in the right thigh as he hid under some bushes. He was limping as he walked.
“Who shot the bird from the sky?” The Viking guy asked Dickson.
“The, eh, one of our friends.” Dickson said.
“Damn! The entire squad that was with me is dead.” The Viking guy said. His squad lay all over scattered in the bush.
Dickson and the Viking guy walked around with their remaining strength searching for survivors. Many of Dickson’s men were already dead. There were some who have completely got torn into pieces by the hail of bullets that got them.
Dickson kept on checking for any notifications from James but none came. He wondered: did someone know that he was helping me and stopped him? Did he get killed? Did he escape?
By night fall, they had managed to locate the captain. He was alive but had been shot in the right arm. He however had used some twigs and leaves to stop the bleeding.
“Will we make it out of here?” The captain asked Dickson.
“Yes.” Dickson said.
“Many of us are dead. I am sure they will come to kill the rest of us.” The captain said.
“Tomorrow, let us try to get to the ship. I shall try and talk to the monster to take us there. Once we get there, we can go home.” Dickson said.
“The monster? What do you mean?” the captain asked.
“Another friend of us.” Dickson said. He did not know how to make the captain understand.
As the night fell, Dickson lay on the ground feeling pains all over his body. Even though he had no broken bones, the soft tissues were aching like hell. “I wish I can get some w**d.” Dickson said while pressing his right thigh hard.
One of the men with Dickson began crying. Dickson could hear the man crying softly in the dark but there was nothing he could say or do to comfort him. They had been through hell and it was ok for him to breakdown.
As Dickson lay down, he wondered: will anyone ever believe us when we tell them the things we encountered?
Somewhere in the dark, they heard the monster howling loudly like it was in pain. It was followed by some rapid gunshots. Dickson just hopped the monster somehow remains alive to help them get to the ship.
