Shadow Carriers: A Sonic Supernatural Story Telling Experience

In the crook of the tree trunk within the local cemetery of your town, there is a dark hole.

Welcome to Shadow Carriers - a podcast featuring a curated collection of disturbia assembled by two life long storytellers, sonically mixed to bring you into the darkness and out again. In that deep hole, a story lies. That story carries fears and wonder. It’s a Shadow. In the back of your unlit basement, a century old, you can hear a scurrying of clawed feet. This Shadow awakens. In the attic of

an abandoned house, a person is seen crossing back and forth in an impossibly lit window. This Shadow calls to you. Because you, like Zack A. Meyer and Orion Couling, are a Shadow Carrier. What is “Shadow Carriers”? It's a curated collection of disturbia assembled by two life long storytellers, sonically mixed to bring you into the darkness and out again. Each episode a summons of a thousand campfire stories and handed-down tales crafted to rouse and amaze you with their midnight hues and macabre chills

Zack and Orion have led investigations, walking tours, and curated museum story collections for more than a decade. They now choose to carry the Shadow directly to the abandoned graveyard of your mind. They invite you to sit with them in this shaft of moonlight and, if you are brave enough, to step into the Shadow with them.

She dug her fingers in against the wall, wildly searching for some kind of an opening or a crevice. Nothing. The walls were as impenetrable as the darkness that surrounded her. Her body was shaking now with terror as she started clawing with her fingernails at the wall. Praying for some kind of give or some hope of escape.

But the stone walls only tore unkindly at her tender flesh and it took her several moments before she realized that blood had started to run down her palms and wrists as she tore and tore despairingly at the unforgiving surface.”

“To play the Midnight Man, you must begin by summoning him.

Begin by writing your full name on a piece of paper, and then prick your finger to let a drop of blood fall on the paper. This blood is your invitation—a signal to the Midnight Man that you are willing to play his game. Turn off all the lights inside your home and make your way to the front door. Place the paper at the threshold of your home, light a candle, and knock on the door 22 times. The final knock must come at the stroke of midnight. Then, open the door, blow out the candle, and close it.

Congratulations, the Midnight Man is now in your home.”

"Turns out history unspools this mystery. Tragedy and trajectory. Height and a moment of unsupervised play in 1985 left the spirit of a little boy on the ninth floor.

We can take some comfort in that the child’s haunting seems to be motivated by play.

And he might have a playmate? A little girl is seen near the elevator on the 15th floor.

Whether it's a game of tag with an icy hand on yours as you step out of the elevator, or rearranged items a child would enjoy in the apartments, these spirits seem to be still playing.
