On this Rules Free Radio with Steve Caplan, as we close out 2024, we’ll revisit some of the artists and music from this year including a few new ones from Club 8, The Jack Rubies, MonkeyCat, The On and Ons, Movieland, The Shang Hi Los, Juana Molina, and Go Dog Go. Andrew Bird and Madison Cunningham have come up with their version of the Buckingham Nicks album from 1973 and in the second hour we’ll hear some of those tunes side by side with songs from the original. Classics and in-betweens from Tom Petty, George Harrison, Wendi Dunlap, East Village, The Stones, Murray Head, The Black Hollies, David Crosby, Triptides, and others. Free-form radio is a labor of love, and we're hard at work! You can hear us on both AM/FM HD Radio and on standard FM. We're found at 94.3 FM in Frederick, 98.3 in Great Falls, VA, and on HD Radio throughout the DC area on the HD3 of WTOP's FM signals: 103.5 FM HD3 (Washington DC) 107.7 FM HD3 (Manassas, VA) 103.9 FM HD3 (Frederick, MD) Also, our 820 AM signal in Frederick, MD is the first all-digital radio station in the United States! This means that you need an HD Radio to hear our 820 AM signal, but you will get FM-like sound quality, and song information displayed on your radio... give it a try! FYI, any FM HD Radio that has AM as well can pick up the signal when in range. Simply tune your HD Radio to 820 AM, and wait a few seconds for the signal to lock (some radios may give you a brief burst of static and then silence before locking), and enjoy. Let us know where you are hearing 820 AM signal, as we are trying to document how well the signal gets out!
