🥵"MAJOR" HEAT RISK FRIDAY 🥵

This is according to NOAAs latest HeatRisk product. Even for early August, the heat we have that is a lot!

The heat index will crank up to 105-110F WEST of the Garden State Parkway. Don't work outside between 10am-4pm. Stay in the shade, drink lots of water. You know the deal.

The shore will have a big ol' sea breeze kick in. So it'll be much cooler there. Highs in the 80s.

BROOKHAVEN: Shopping are getting a upgrade in Brookhaven

ShopRite on Edgemont Avenue in Brookhaven, will be among the first in Pennsylvania to use a high-tech shopping cart.

The smart carts were first designed by Instacart in Hoboken, New Jersey to serve North Jersey’s wealthy communities of Hoboken and Brookdale with it’s great success, the technology is now expanding to new markets in the Keystone state’s Delaware Valley. Customers can use the smart carts to keep running totals of their groceries and unlock rewards along the way.

Each smart cart has a screen where shoppers scan their items as they shop, see how much they are spending, weigh fresh produce and see what coupons are available.

Those with ShopRite Price Pus membership will also receive information about how much they need to spend to get rewards.

When ready to pay, customers take the cart to a self-checkout area and scan the bar code on the cart to check out all the items inside the cart.

ShopRite is also planning on introducing the smart carts in other areas in the region as well. including Drexel Hill and Northeast Philadelphia.
