At 11:30pm Wednesday evening the Company was dispatched to the area of 901 13th Ave for an accident with reported entrapment. The crew of Squad 8 arrived to find one vehicle on its side against a tree, with one confined into the vehicle. The Squad crew used our brand new holmatro battery powered cutters and took the roof of the car off to gain access to the patient. Rescue 7(Ridley Park) assisted with stabilization and rescue operations. Crews operated on scene for about an hour on standby for the tow to remove the vehicle. From on scene time to patient removal was approximately 15 minutes 🇺🇸

SPRINGFIELD: Government Employee Involved in Road Rage?

Community groups around Delco have been creating a lot of buzz over an alleged road rage incident involving a Ford Fusion with government plates.

According to the original poster who goes under the alias Terri Lavere out of fear of retaliation, the incident occurred earlier today 1/14/25 at the State Road/Media Bypass interchange at West Sproul Rd in Springfield Township.

The Driver allegedly was "seen driving recklessly, stopping traffic to get out of his car and harassing a female he cut off moments prior, giving the finger & yelling the slur "F*G!"" Said Terri on a Facebook post. Terri then requested help from the community with identifying the driver.

This sparked outrage and disbelief within several community groups with some going as far as posting VIN (Vehicle Identification Numbers) and other sensitive information. At time of writing, a police report regarding the incident was obtained. However the identity of the driver still remains unclear.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is requested to send it to police.

Today I stood with other officials from around Delaware County to call out Prospect Medical Holdings’ exploitation of our hospital system, putting residents of the City of Chester and our neighbors in serious risk of losing nearby access to life-saving care. Their bankruptcy announcement this weekend makes it all the more dire, but I will continue to fight for good health care options for our community.

This morning during a switch over from internal emergency generators to an external generator by an electrical contractor, there was an arc short of a transformer in the same mechanical room as a previous emergency. The generator caused a small fire of itself that caused a smoke condition in the boiler room with minor extension of smoke and odor in the Hospital. Crews worked to make sure all power was secured to the room of origin and after multiple attempts to extinguish with dry chemical extinguishers it was decided to put (1) one 1 Âľ hand line in service to extinguish the burning transformer. Crews worked on smoke removal and turned the operation back over to the hospital contractors to start the repairs. No patients needed to be evacuated as well as no injuries were reported.

Congratulations, Firefighter Austin Brooks!

On this rainy day, Firefighter Austin Brooks received his black shield from Chief 52, marking a significant milestone in his fire service journey.

During his time with us, FF Brooks has demonstrated exceptional dedication, running calls whenever he is in town—including a few fires. His contributions have made him a tremendous asset to our company, even in this relatively short period.

Firefighter Brooks hails from the Honey Brook Fire Company of Chester County, where firefighting runs in the family. We are proud to have him as part of our team and look forward to his continued growth and success in the fire service.

Once again, congratulations, FF Austin Brooks!
