Marshall University has added Jalen Speer, a 6’1”, 170-pound guard from Florida A&M, to their basketball roster. Speer, with one year of eligibility remaining, posted solid numbers in the 2023-24 season: 16 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds per game over 19 games, with a 39% shooting rate from three-point range.

The Tri-State Coal Cats of the Appalachian League have announced their opening day roster for their inaugural season.

The roster includes three Marshall University players: pitchers Bryce Blevins and Peyton Jackson, and infielder Jack Smith.

The roster also includes two West Virginia University Mountaineers (pitcher Drew Callaway and infielder Spencer Barnett) as well as a pair of Ohio State Buckeyes: catcher Isaac Cadena and outfielder CJ Richard.

The Bengals released Safety Nick Scott. Scott, a sixth-year player, signed with the Bengals as an unrestricted free agent in the 2023 offseason. He appeared in all 17 games for Cincinnati in 2023, starting 10 of them, and recorded 56 tackles along with one forced fumble recovery.
