The City of Claremore is closed to all traffic until 12 PM today. After noon, only residents and those with legitimate reasons to enter will be allowed. First responders, City officials, and their partners are working to assess the damage in the light of day. The cleanup phase is just beginning and will take time. There is extensive damage to trees and power lines in several areas of the City. Avoid the area today if you do not need to be in the City. That is the best way to help at this time. We will update you with more information as we receive it.

Our thoughts are with all Claremore residents especially those affected by last night's storm. We will get through this. Please be patient, check on your neighbors, and know that we are all doing everything we can to get the City back in working order.

American Legion Post 6

Hominy is under a water boil notice until next week because of the recent weather. They have asked for any help possible.
I will have the Legion Post in Chelsea open this Sunday May 12th from 2-4 pm if anyone would care to donate bottled water.
I will take the water over Monday morning.

If a business would like to sponsor a senior/seniors, please contact The Chelsea Reporter by Monday at 10:00 a.m. We offer one senior for $48, two for $90, or three for $120.

If any senior parents plan to place a special ad for their graduates, you may do so by emailing Chelsea Reporter at [email protected] by Monday, May 13th at 10:00 a.m.
A basic senior ad includes a congratulatory message and picture for $48.

Don't forget that Project Chelsea is starting the Yard of the Month contest this month. No need to enter - if you have a yard and live in the Chelsea city limits then you're entered! Judging will done the 5th of each month and you will be notified. They will put a sign in your yard and you will receive a small prize from Project Chelsea. Get those yard prettied up for today's judging!
