Community Darkroom is the center for film photography in the greater Chattanooga area. Here you can 1) learn how to use a film camera, 2) develop the film you shoot, and 3) make physical photographic prints from your negatives. You can learn more at our website. Link in bio.

And if you are shooting film already and need your film developed and scanned, we do that as well.

In lieu of our November and December monthly meetups, we’re gathering at The Feed on West Main Street on December 7th. We’ll be talking all things photography and doing a holiday gift exchange! Bring something to give away or exchange (a print, roll of film, camera, etc.), meet other local photographers and join our community. Everyone is welcome!

We are incredibly jazzed to announce two new locations for our 35mm b&w film. Now you can buy Noogapan 400 at and .bar. At CST, just belly up to the bar and order a roll. At The Boneyard, look for the vending machine and slip in your dollar dollar bills. Either way, you’ll get 36 exposures of smooth Noogapan tones with pleasing grain. Pro Tip: Shoot it at ISO 200 to get more shadow detail. And yes, you can still get Noogapan 400 and .

Our 3rd Annual Photowalk with the Shutter Brothers is just two weeks away! If you arrange to be in Kingston, Tennessee on Saturday, October 26, you will not regret it. The city of Kingston is putting on its Living History Reenactment Weekend to celebrate it’s 225 birthday, and hundreds of late 18th century military and civilian reenactors will be on hand at Fort Southwest Point, giving us photographers many incredible opportunities to capture scenes that may never happen again.

The day begins at 8:00 am, and reenactments continue throughout the day. You’re welcome to stay as long or as little as you like. Wayne and I will be at fort office/museum at noon to lead the way into Kingston for lunch and photography chat. This event is free, and you are welcome to bring any kind of camera you wish, film or digital.

Once again Safelight District Community Darkroom along with the Uncle Jonesy's Cameras Podcast are presenting our 3rd Annual Photowalk with the Shutter Brothers on Saturday, October 26, this time at Fort Southwest Point in Kingston, Tennessee. The city of Kingston will be celebrating its 225th birthday with its Living History Reenactment Weekend, and there will be hundreds of late 18th century military and civilian reenactors at the fort, presenting a unique opportunity for creative photography. I didn’t used to feel the need for contact sheets, but now I see how useful they are. I also think they have a beauty all their own.
