Happy belated Mother’s Day to all you Mom’s out there, hope you had a beautiful day celebrating! You voted, the computer tabulated, and the results are in – We are happy to extend a big Congratulations out to Mercy’s Won/”Remember, God Forgets” for moving into the #1 position here on Simply Southern Gospel’s Top 40! Mercy’s Won took three of the “Top Takes including: “Top Votes Total”, Top Domestic Votes” & “Top International Votes”! Mercy’s Won has garnered a strong fanbase, and they aren’t shy about expressing it. Mercy’s Won has graced the #1 spot several times now here at Simply Southern Gospel & we’re happy to be a small part of their amazing ministry! Justified Quartet managed to take The “Top Commented” portion of the “Top Takes” this cycle. – Westward Road/”He Knew” also took a step forward & up to the #3 slot, the top points we’re very close again! After 4 Weeks @ #1, Peach Goldman/”Expecting A Mountain” dropped to the #4 position, congrats to Peach Goldman for a great 4 week #1 run! – Response to Steve Ladd/”Mercy’s Seat” solidified his #5 spot rounding out our Top Five this cycle! A bunch of great songs behind that great Top Five lineup. We predict another nailbiter next charting cycle, Let’s get those fans voting, make sure you read the rules, so your vote is counted! Congratulations to an amazing Top Five & all of the great Top 40 charting artists & groups!
** A plea from Simply Southern Gospel: We wanted to reach out on behalf of all the Southern Gospel Groups & Artists, or what we prefer to refer to as “Musical Warriors” – It is touring season, and gas prices are very high. It is already expensive to travel, not alone the ministry up-keep, sound systems, instruments, product, merchandise, recording, auto/van/bus repairs, feeding your family…. the list is long and seemingly never ending. Most of the artists & groups (maybe surprisingly to you, but even some of the bigger names) struggle to make ends meet. So when you attend a concert, every little bit helps, buy a T-shirt, a cd, a hat, etc. – If you can’t attend concerts, go online to their websites and order something, as every little bit helps and it helps get their names out there to reach more souls! “Top Mover” – Our “Top Mover” this cycle belongs to 11th Hour/”Yes And Amen” which was also our last chart’s “Top New Entry”, continuing their upward momentum with a big +14-point gain from #31 to #17 taking the fast track! – Three other songs made +10-Point jumps this cycle which qualified them to be “Hot Movers” including; The Batchelor Family/”He’s Still The King” with a +11-point surge from #40 to #29 – The Guardians/”I Know You” gained +10-points jumping from #33 to #22 & The Kramers/”And We Will” made their “Top New Entry” debut with a +10-point advantage at #30! Congrats to all!

Mercy’s Won took three of the “Top Takes” this cycle including: “Top Votes Total”, Top Domestic Votes” & “Top International Votes”! Mercy’s Won has garnered a strong fanbase, and we might add that those fans aren’t shy about expressing their support. Mercy’s Won has graced the #1 spot several times here at Simply Southern Gospel & we’re happy to be a small part of their amazing ministry! When a new song reaches #1, we like to take a look at the journey that song travelled to the #1 spot! Mercy’s Won/”Remember, God Forgets” began the journey on the February 15th Top 40 as the “Top New Entry”/”Hot Mover” at #27, a good indication of things to come – March 1st chart kept the momentum going as the song took a +11-point gain to the #16 position as a “Hot Mover” again – Come March 15th chart, “Remember, God Forgets” had a +8-point leap to the #8 spot – April 1st chart welcomed Mercy’s Won into Top Five at #4 – April 15th moved them ever closer to the #2 position where they faced a strong #1 song standing in their path – May 1st chart kept Mercy’s Won holding that #2 spot, unable to move forward… until today May 15th 2026 where Mercy’s Won/”Remember God Forgets” was able to now occupy the #1 position! You never know what’s going to happen, as the song moved quickly to the top only to be held back so close to the brass ring. God’s timing is perfect.
