The City of East Ridge is working to provide relief for citizens of East Tennessee involved in the storms from Hurricane Helene and resulting flooding. We will be collecting items to include clothing, shoes, toys, animal related items, toiletries, nonperishable food, & more. These items will be transported to the City of Collegedale on Friday, and then on to the affected area Saturday via the Fire Department/Mutual Aid.

We will set up drop off boxes to collect donations at City Hall and the Community Center in for local citizens, business owners, and any other interested parties to donate. Items will be collected until Friday, October 4, 2024, at 2pm.

We have had calls from citizens this morning who have received either a voicemail or call from someone claiming to be one of our officers and coming from the SMPD business line number (423-886-2124). The message is a variation of "you have failed to appear to a summons for court. Find a confidential location in your home and bring a pen and paper" Signal Mountain Police will not call you with that type of message. If you receive one of these calls, do not continue the conversation. If you still have concerns, feel free to give us a call.

BREAKING: A crash on I-75 in northwest Georgia killed at least 4 people and hurt 5 more Sunday evening. One of those killed was a teenager, and several children were among those hurt.

A terrible tragedy in our community. Hard to believe it’s been 22 years…

The Chattanooga Police Department remembers Officer Julie Jacks who died in the line of duty 22 years ago today.

She served the citizens of Chattanooga for 3 years and was 26-years-old at the time of her death. In her first year with CPD, Officer Jacks earned CPD Rookie of the Year honors.

Officer Jacks' name is engraved on the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C. She is one of 21,000-plus officers whose sacrifice is honored.
