Just the facts. ๐ฏ
Just a reminder that this should surprise literally no one. Yes, it's a splashy soundbite and it's good that it's being recited and reshared and retweeted everywhere so that more and more people can understand what these people are like.
But just like Project 2025, they've been advocating for this kind of thing for a long time.
JD Vance, who has landed on the campaign like a wet fart, has advocated for less voting rights for people without kids--and to be clear that means biological kids. Step-kids, adopted kids, etc. do not count to him.
Millions of people in this country are childless for myriad reasons.
Some by choice, some by fate, some by misfortune.
There are people who have tried desperately to be parents who were never able to see that dream realized.
Some have chosen adoption even when they could have had kids.
None of it is JD Vance's business. But he wants it to be.
He, like so many Republicans, is obsessed with the birth rate. Some of this ties to wyt supremacy and the idea of "pure" blood being propagated so as not to be "overrun" by "dirty," well, you name it: minority kids, mixed-race kids, and so on and so forth.
But Mike, you might say, aren't his kids mixed? Well, yeah. Not that that has stopped people from pursuing wyt supremacist goals, because somehow they always think that they'll be "safe" or whatever...
Also? The focus on the value of "reproducing" and the fight to restrict reproductive choice has a lot to do with the right-wing goal of keeping poor people poor and "in their place."
They need cogs for the machinery that keeps those corporate profits soaring, so anything that might help people make better or more calculated choices about reproduction is a no-no. They take away reproductive freedom and remove any sex-ed other than "don't do it" (which they know doesn't work) and you can keep entire sections of the population mired in cycles of poverty.
And then they can demonize those same people, and continue to offer NO help to the people they've conscripted to produce a new human--because it never was and never will be about that baby's life--and statistically they figure they'll get someone willing to take a low-wage job.
And yes we always focus on the fact that they will always be able to get their mistresses access to banned procedures if needed, and say that "affluent" (code for wyt) women will always have options--but I don't think that they are about that latter part.
So yes, please keep talking about how weird these MFs are, but also please realize that that weirdness goes MUCH deeper than a lot of people realize.
Birthrate obsession and the worry about wyt folks losing their majority is WEIRD weird.
And ALL of these right-wing k***s are obsessed with this stuff.
JD Vance is.
Tucker Carlson is.

Don't let them forget it.
