Rocks, Snow and Moon - Seneca Rocks, WV

I am a great big faker. At least according to several people with the photo I posted a few days ago of Seneca Rocks with a telephoto lens from a couple miles away. You can look it up but a lot of those comments had to be deleted because they degenerated into bigotry and name calling. I thought it was just a throwaway picture of a rock in the mountains!

Anyway, here's another fake image I took last weekend. We had to cancel the Seneca Rocks moonrise workshop due to the weather but I was still in the area anyway and decided to show up for it and got my first picture of the moonrise with snow on the rocks here.

Speaking of workshops, we have had a great reception for the upcoming Moonwalk workshop here and are already full! You can be added to the waiting list or you can join one of my other workshops this year: Spring Wildflowers and Milky Way in the Greenbrier Valley, Summer's End in the Potomac Highlands, and Autumn in the Greenbrier Valley all have open slots.

After Hurricane Helene, adventure guides in Western North Carolina need your support, and are asking you to come visit.

October is typically an all-hands-on-deck season for small businesses like Pisgah Climbing School, taking visitors outdoors for epic climbing excursions and classes from beginner to expert.

Instead, this past fall was spent volunteering and using their expertise for search and rescue teams, while tourists were asked to stay away. To understand the scale of the impact, it is important to consider the role the tourism economy plays in the region.
