Classic Mini DIY NEEDS YOUR HELP!! As you all know, I run a free database of technical and historical information at Classic Mini DIY Archive

https://www.classicminidiy.com/archive

Today I am asking for your help to start populating this database with as much historical documentation, manuals, documents, or anything else you think would be worth preserving and archiving. When you submit this data, I will curate and publish it for the world to access for free.

All of this data is being stored and backed up so we won't see a data loss and resource loss again like what happened with Mk1-performance, Photobucket, or other no longer maintained services. This data will ALWAYS REMAIN PUBLIC AND FREE, and the site is fully open source forever.

If this is something you would like to help me with, please consider clicking the "Add to Archive" button on the site, or email me at [email protected]

The newest blog post is live on Classic Mini DIY's Substack! Come and have a look!
Building a Small Displacement Torque Machine
In this update, we explore the rebuild of an 1100cc Classic Mini engine, emphasizing its potential to outperform stock 1275 engines. Initially mistaken for an 850, the engine features a robust 12G295 head and a long-stroke crankshaft, providing more torque in a usable range. Despite misconceptions of weakness, the 1100cc block is durable. The project aims to create a fun, spirited daily driver while preserving the original 3-synchro gearbox, enhancing the classic driving experience.

Building an 1100 A-Series engine to be a torque machine that can outperform some stock 1275 engines, with an exceptional power curve!

Hey everyone,

I wanted to take a moment to share some important news with you all. After much thought and consideration, I've decided to gradually transition away from using Instagram and Facebook as my primary platforms for connecting with you. I have attempted to make this shift a few times over the years but I can no longer support these platforms.

This decision wasn't made lightly, but I'm thrilled to announce an exciting new chapter: I'll be moving over to Bluesky!

This shift represents an opportunity for me to engage with you all in fresh and innovative ways. Bluesky offers a unique platform that emphasizes decentralized technology, which not only enhances user privacy but also empowers creators with more control over their content. It's a growing community that fosters creativity and connection, and I can't wait to see you there!

As I make this transition, I will be using Buffer to post across all three platforms for the next 3-4 months. At which point I will stop posting on IG and Facebook entirely.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support and encouragement through Classic Mini DIY's journey. I hope to see you there soon, where we can discover new ways to interact and share our passions.

Take care and see you on Bluesky!

Some really excellent touches to the 1100 mini while we wait for the engine from . The beautiful bulkhead cover. I kind of want to replace mine as this is such a beautiful upgrade. And of course a new classic steering wheel with lap timer flare to tart up the inside some.

The heat sleeved brake lines are now in to support the new master cylinders in the mini. Very pleased with these custom lines and the new pedal feel. Still waiting on the custom heat shield I designed for the masters but the one for the little brake T-fitting fits great. Video still in progress in the editing booth but it will be out soon!
