An unfortunate mix-up put an embarrassing blemish on the 54th annual Fourth of July Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta, the world’s largest 10K. In the women’s elite division, defending champion Senbere Teferi led much of the race, but on the final approach to the finish line, sprinting behind three police motorcycle escorts, Teferi followed a policeman who, unexplainably, turned onto a side street.

By Julie Warnock Adams:
The oxygen is gone.
Those are the words that showed up on my phone this morning. The Titanic submarine with 5 people, had 96 hours of oxygen.
A man named Stockton Rush is one of the 5 aboard this sub. He is the CEO of OceanGate which operates this vessel. Stockton is a billionaire.
Stockton’s wife is the great- great granddaughter of Isidro and Ida Strauss; the well known couple who died on the Titanic in 1912. Isidor is known for making sure all women and children were first in reaching safety. Ida, refused to leave his side.
While there are lots of emotional stories that can be taken from all of this; my first thought is the unknown of how our lives will end. None of these people decided to leave the planet this way. They were explorers, adventurers, researchers.
All of that being said, one thing is true…money will never be your greatest investment. It will never be your last thought to have wished for more. Rather, your relationships will now be front and center. The people you love and who have loved you- are the investments. And even greater, is your investment with Jesus.
So while you are reading this, and have the oxygen to comprehend your life, make sure you have a life-line with Jesus.

Armed Forces Day is this Saturday. Rachael M Colby interviewed people in the military and provided a plethora of information for us.
"I joined the military because I’m answering my calling,” said the first young United States Army serviceman I interviewed.
“I am concerned that we are divided. Realize what we as a nation are about: United—one nation. Represent your flag. We need understanding, to accept and respect each other. Out of many one people.
“Have your culture; have your heritage. Be proud of your heritage—but we are all Americans. E Pluribus Unum; out of many, one. We are Americans first,” — U.S. Army serviceman twice deployed to Afghanistan.
What a privilege to interview some of our active duty and retired military members and share their words dispersed throughout this article.
I wonder how many know that congress designated May as Military Appreciation Month in 1999. Only two of the fifty people I asked knew the third Saturday of May is designated as Armed Forces Day. However, someone informed me that May fourth was Star Wars Day. Can we please fix this?

Millions of Americans joined together to observe the National Day of Prayer on May 4. Christians met in churches, parks, courthouses, capitol buildings, schools, while many watched the broadcast in their homes to intercede for the healing of America, the nation’s leaders, their communities and families, reports All Israel News.
This year’s theme is: “Pray fervently in righteousness and avail much,” based on the second part of James 5:16 which says, “The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.”

Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, senior pastor of the New Season Church in Sacramento, California co-hosted this year’s National Day of Prayer broadcast by the National Day of Prayer Task Force. He asserted the importance of prayer in 2023 in American history.
“As a nation, we’ve never been down this road. It’s a road of moral relativism, a road of cultural decadence, unprecedented strife and discord,” Rodriguez said. “The 2023 National Day of Prayer carries an incredible amount of spiritual and moral weight as it pertains to the advancement of this idea we call the American experiment.”
Following several spiritual revivals in different parts of the country recently, Rodriguez said Americans are praying for hope and an awakening.
“We’re praying for an awakening in America. We are praying for unity. We are praying for repentance. We are praying for hope. We are praying for truth, to overcome the lies, for love, to silence hate and for America’s problems to become America’s testimony.”
