We are sad to announce Wayne Maikranz, former director of Student Niner Media, passed away peacefully in the morning on September 27. Wayne mentored hundreds of students for more than 33 years in Student Media at UNC Charlotte. Wayne also shared his design skills as an adjunct faculty member in the Communication Studies Department. Wayne had a true passion for all things media and was always a journalist at heart. He enjoyed working with students to help them grow their skills and was able to watch many of them advance in their careers after graduation and beyond.
