The Greenville Little Leagues Tar Heel 9-11 All Stars have won their first 2 games of the 2024 Tournament of State Champions (TOSC Wilson, NC) and guaranteed themselves a spot in the TOSC semifinals.

Tar Heel (the NC state champion) defeated Tennessee 2-0 Saturday. Cayden McNeill, Thomas Moye and Bruce Tyndall combined for the shutout, allowing only three hits and striking out 10 Tennessee hitters. Mayson James sparked the offense with a two-out two-run double in the 1st inning for all the scoring.

The Tar Heel squad followed up their opening game win with a 7-3 comeback win vs South Carolina on Sunday. South Carolina led 2-0 after two innings but Tar Heel took control in the third inning with four runs and added a run in every other inning to win and guarantee a spot in the TOSC Semifinals beginning Tuesday. McNeill had two hits and two RBIs while Moye, Bray Willett, Graham Tadlock and Brynson Purvis combined on the mound to allow just five hits and strike out 8.

Tar Heel will take on Florida Monday at 6:15 p.m in their final game of pool play before the single elimination semifinal round begins on Tuesday. Admission is free at Bank Stadium at Gillette Sports Complex in Wilson.

Tommy Paul defeated Luciano Darderi 6-3 6-4 in his opening match at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris Sunday.

Paul, a former Greenville resident and J.H. Rose High School student, will face either Jakub Mensik or Alexander Shevchenko in round 2.

He will take on Luciano Darderi of Italy at 8:40 a.m. EDT Sunday. The match can be streamed on the Peacock app.

The Greenville Little Leagues North State 8-10 All Stars (GLL 2024 North State All Stars 8-10) TOSC run ended Tuesday afternoon in Wilson with a loss to South Carolina in their semifinal matchup.

The North Carolina state champions finish their postseason run at 11-1.

As much as we hate to reschedule our already rescheduled market date, the forecast is showing a rainy, dreary week ahead. Even if it doesn't rain on Thursday, the grass our market is on will still be soggy, humid, and mosquito-ridden! So we don't waste anyone's time, we are going to go ahead and cancel this market date.

Our remaining regularly scheduled markets are on August 8th and September 12th. What we have decided to do is to add one additional market on OCTOBER 10TH as our make-up date. We hope you'll come out to show your support!

The Greenville Little Leagues North State 8-10 All Stars (GLL 2024 North State All Stars 8-10) won their final pool play game of the 2024 Tournament of State Champions (TOSC Wilson, NC) matchup vs Georgia 5-2 and to improve to 3-0 and advance to the TOSC semifinals.

Beckett Moore pitched a complete game on just 66 pitches (46 strikes), allowing two runs and surrendering zero walks. The North State defense did not commit any errors behind Moore with Grayson Palumbo having the most chances with five (all stats according to Gamechanger Recap North Carolina 8-10 TOSC).

On offense, North State knocked out the Georgia starter in the first inning with four runs to take control early.

Gabe Blake (single and 1 RBI), Nash Martin (triple, run scored and 1 RBI), Hudson Hyde (double, walk, run scored and 1 RBI) and Hudson Hayes (single and 1 RBI) paced the offense.

North State (the North Carolina champion) now advances to the semifinal round on Tuesday. Game time and opponent to be determined after Monday's pool play is complete.

Admission is free at Bank Stadium at Gillette Sports Complex in Wilson.

The Greenville Little Leagues North State 8-10 All Stars (GLL 2024 North State All Stars 8-10) won their second game of the 2024 Tournament of State Champions (TOSC Wilson, NC) matchup vs Tennessee 6-2 and guaranteed themselves a spot in the TOSC semifinals.

Hudson Hayes (4 innings pitched) and Logan Dishman (2 innings pitched) allowed just three hits and two runs to the Tennessee batters and Isiah Outlaw's double to drive in two runs highlighted North Carolina's five-run fifth inning outburst to break a 1-1 tie.

North State (the North Carolina champion) will take on Georgia Monday at 10 a.m in their final game of pool play before the semifinal round on Tuesday. Admission is free at Bank Stadium at Gillette Sports Complex in Wilson.
