The NC Music Hall of Fame is thrilled to announce our 2024 inductee class:
Bobby Hicks - 50+ year bluegrass fiddler & IBMA Hall of Famer.
Clarence Avant (Greensboro, NC) - Executive pioneer known as The "Black Godfather" of entertainment.
Mary Cardwell Dawson (Madison, NC) - Educator and founder of the first U.S. African American opera company.
Merge Records (Durham, NC)- NC based independent record label with records reaching top spots on Billboard music charts.
Petey Pablo (Greenville, NC) - Multi-platinum hip hop artist & producer. Recorded NC's rap anthem, "Raise Up".
Tommy Faile (Charlotte, NC)- Country singer/songwriter and familiar Charlotte radio and television personality of the 50's & 60's.
Those selected have left an indelible mark on the world of music. A ceremony to honor the inductees - presented by Visit Mooresville - will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024. The event will be held at the Charles Mack Citizen Center in downtown Mooresville, NC. The event will not only commemorate the great musical artists to be inducted but will also celebrate the 30-year anniversary of the Hall of Fame organization.
The special event will include a reception to welcome the incoming class of inductees and dinner during the ceremony.
