A man and his car, a special bond.. those who know will understand.

The latest garage addition is a 1964 Shelby Daytona Coupe by fully licensed, titled and registered as such.

Spec'd by Dan
Every car I've ever seen that he has spec'd has turned out to be an absolute masterpiece. Bravo bud!

The color is Fuji pearl white with Ford liquid blue racing stripes and a carbon flash center stripe. The wheels are custom built by (yes they are a true center lock wheel), and also finished in carbon flash to match the small center stripe. The spec also features a blackout package, which is the first Daytona Coupe to receive it. And I think it's absolutely fantastic!

Ive been into cars for decades and I feel like over the last 3-4 years I've really fallen into my groove on the "feel" of each car I own. As does everyone in the car community, we like to make each car our own, and this is a perfect representation of the vibe of my ideal ride. If you've seen my garage and collection it fits right in.

Stay tuned for a ton of content we have planned with this beast. I think it's only appropriate that I take it on one of the next car rallies I participate in to see what this thing can really do. 😏

Through my YouTube channel I've been intentionally trying to give the next gen a voice, and also help guide them on their path. This ended up being exactly that!

Fantastic conversation about John's humble beginnings, his come up out of poverty, and his current journey. I think we can all take something valuable from this conversation, I know I did!

Besides cool car content, I hope that this becomes the heart and soul of my channel. Attract the next gen with the shiny stuff and then speak into their lives.

Let.me know what you think. I'd love to hear suggestions for future episodes/content!

It all started with a DM that was stuck in my requested message box, and turned into a trip of a lifetime for us and Daniel! Let me explain..

Daniel messaged me through Instagram asking if he could paint F85 for me. At first when I found the message I didn't think much of it because usually when people send me a message like that, there's a huge catch. Not in this case.

He had always wanted to paint a GT40 and what a better way to do it he said than to do it for an owner, especially one that is so passionate about his car.

So I gave him the green light and within the next week he was already sending me progress photos. I was blown away that he was actually doing it, but also how incredible it was.

When he was done, he sent me a completed photo and I was absolutely blown away. Then he shipped it across the country to my house. What he didn't know from the start, nor did I, was that I ended up buying him a plane ticket and flying him out here too unveil it in person. When that painting arrived at my house in the box, I can't tell you how tempting it was to open it because he didn't show up until a few weeks later. But I didn't, I had self-control and actually did not open it.

With that being said, today the video of the unveiling will be live on my YouTube. I hope you take some time to go give it a watch. Daniel is one of the most humble and nicest human beings I've ever met and I'm so thankful to have met him this way.

He also included a very special Easter egg in the painting that pays tribute to my father who passed away years ago. This is now a centerpiece to my garage!

Here's a huge life lesson to take from this...

You'll never know the opportunities you'll get by just adding value to someone else without expecting anything in return.

Go give Daniel a follow

I had the honor and privilege today of being invited to share one of my GT40s with these boys at an elementary school in Huntersville NC.

I brought two race helmets so the kids could put them on while sitting in the car. One by one we put each of them in the driver's seat, put a helmet on their head and strapped them into the 4-point harness so they could feel like a race car driver.

I'm happy to report they had an amazing time, and it seemed like all of the dads/teachers enjoyed it just as much πŸ˜‚. Besides driving the cars, this is my favorite part about the car community.πŸ’œ

Not only will this create a lifelong memory for these kids, but hopefully they will get excited enough about cars to keep the culture alive for generations to come.

is an incredible human and the one who gave me the opportunity. He's a mentor to these kids once a week on Fridays and is truly making an impact on their lives. Every one of them came up to me when I got there, shook my hand and introduced themselves. Keep up the good work with these young men, I salute you Jon!

Artist Daniel 🀯

Daniel approached me a while back and asked if he could paint a picture of my favorite GT40 (and dare I say favorite car ever), F85. This car has my heart. I absolutely LOVE driving it, the story behind it and the memories I've created in it. I was honored that he'd want to paint it for me!

While in the discovery phase, he asked me for a saying that meant something to me. My dad always used to say, "if you're not having fun, what the hell's the point?!". If you knew him at all you probably heard him say that and watched him live his life that way. He passed away at 68 years old and had battled with heart disease for more than 20 years, among other things. Daniel incorporated this beautifully into the painting. One of my dad's favorite musicians was Sting, so I leave you with one of his favorite songs.

I'm so honored to be on the receiving end of such an incredible work of art and can't wait for it to be a centerpiece of my garage. πŸ’œ

My 1971 Protouring Camaro will be going up FOR SALE soon. I've got some plans for some future cars so both Camaros will actually be leaving the stable 😈

When we first started the build we were uncertain how the new wheels would change the vibe of the car. So we left all the chrome to match the existing wheels. Once the new forgelines arrived and I put them on the car, it confirmed our suspicion that all of the chrome needed to be blacked out. Personally, I like that sinister look and I know a lot of you do as well.

Here are a few standout details on the build, I've got about $150k into this car:

-LS motor & new 4l80e automatic transmission
-Hotchkis suspension (top of the line complete system)
-Full custom interior
-New air conditioning
-New electrical, the entire car was rewired
-Forgeline custom built wheels w Michelin Pilot Sport tires
-Full paint correction & ceramic
-All new modern lighting

Car was built locally by top notch work!

Everyone meet Miller! is a close friend of mine and THE guy behind (and often in front of) the scenes who is critical to making all of this content possible. He's the one responsible for all of the videography and editing, and the high quality content we've been putting on my YouTube channel.

The car in this picture is what brought us together. Back in early 2020 there was a car show being held in South Carolina. Miller had just watched Ford vs Ferrari the night before and was inspired to show up the next morning. He drove an hour and a half to get to the car show, and while waiting in line to turn into the parking lot he heard a really unique sounding car in front of him (but couldn't see it).

When the left arrow turned green he saw a cobra turning and thought, man that's cool I've never seen one of those in person before! And then immediately after he saw me turn left behind it in my GT40... the way he describes it, his breath was taken away - he HAD to come see it up close! I still remember the moment he walked up in awe of the car and introduced himself to me. He told me he was a photographer and asked if he could have my info so he could send me the photos he took that day. So I did. Those photos were absolutely incredible! After that day I started using him for some other projects outside of cars, pictures and drone footage of our large development projects and he continued to knock it out of the park.

Fast forward to about 6 months ago, my line of work is extremely stressful, and my wife, mom and others told me I should consider doing something to give myself a break each week, to do something I enjoy to give myself a break and relieve some stress before I ended up sick, or worse. I decided that Tuesdays I would take the day to do some car stuff. Of course I immediately called Miller and told him my plan and asked if he wanted to join and turn on a camera. He excitedly agreed that we could make some really cool content and that it would be worth putting in the work. We are having A BLAST! I can't wait to see where this journey takes us and I couldn't be happier to be doing this with him & the journey is the best part!
