Alex Perry scored 49 points Friday night against DeSoto County to set a new Port Charlotte single-game record. The previous record of 47 was set by Matt Washington in 2015 during a double-overtime game. Here is Perry’s record-setting bucket:

Sunday was Bruce Blanden’s 13th birthday. After his multi-TD effort during the Port Charlotte 12U Bandits’ 33-0 win against Escondido, his teammates serenaded him with “Happy Birthday” as they ran off the field.
