Born February 8, 1937, Leavill was a talent scout and assistant producer for Brunswick Records, where he was credited with discovering legendary Brunswick artists such as The Chi-Lites, Tyrone Davis, Hamilton Bohannon 🤩

In only 49 years on this earth (Jackie left us on January 21st, 1984), Mr. Excitement gave the world some of the most legendary soul songs of all time, including "Lonely Teardrops" and "(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher & Higher" 🤩
