Last week, we hosted MEJO AND?, where we explored how our members’ organizations connect with MEJO majors and the many career paths in media, communications, and beyond.
From sports media to entrepreneurship, tech, law, and creative storytelling, our panelists showed that MEJO is just the beginning.
What’s your MEJO AND? Let us know in the comments.

✨ What an incredible semester it’s been with CABJ! 🩵🎉
This Fall, we kicked things off in September with an unforgettable tour of the Carolina Basketball Museum 🏀 and the ACC Network Studio, plus our Mix & Mingle event where members and prospective members got a taste of what CABJ is all about. 💬✨
In October, we dove deep into Racialize Disinformation: Elections Past, Present, and Future, exploring the impact of misinformation on elections. 🗳️ We also flexed our knowledge during Journalism Jeopardy! 📚🎤
November was all about giving back—CABJ E-Board volunteered at East Chapel Hill High School and Hillside High School, sharing wisdom about pursuing journalism and media degrees. 🙌 And throughout the month, we spotlighted phenomenal individuals making waves in the media industry. 🌟💻
We’re proud of everything we’ve accomplished, and we couldn’t do it without YOU! 💙 Tell us in the comments—What was your favorite event this semester? And what would you like to see more of in the future? ⬇️

📸 ICYMI, we gathered at the Freedom Forum in Carroll Hall for a powerful panel on “Racialized Disinformation: Elections Past, Present, and Future,” hosted by @unccitap and @cabj_unc ! 🗳️✨
Our expert panelists Meredith Clark, Francesca Tripodi, Shannon McGregor, and Daniel Kreiss shed light on the history and impact of electoral disinformation, with a focus on how racialized disinformation targets communities of color. Through insightful discussions, they explored strategies for media literacy and the role journalists can play in combatting disinformation, especially with the 2024 election around the corner.
Special thanks to @nia.simone12 (Nia Satterfield Brown) for moderating this impactful conversation! 💬👥
Together, we’re working to empower our communities with the knowledge to resist disinformation and protect our democratic values. #UNC #CITAP #CABJ #MediaLiteracy #Disinformation #2024Elections
