I own several tools, including step stools, brooms, extension poles, and ladders, that assist me in reaching things that are beyond my grasp. This weekend, I reached for this ladder to complete a task that was 5 feet beyond my reach.

My height required me to learn how to obtain what was beyond my reach. My height has made me comfortable getting help to reach past my limits.

Before I returned this ladder to its storage location in a flash of light, it became symbolic of what I'm offering business owners through the Financiers' Forum.

No matter the stage of your business, some elements are beyond your reach. Those elements include information, skills, professional networks, tools, systems, etc.

The Hometown Heroes and Experts are a part of the Financiers' Forum because they want to be a type of ladder to help your business and entrepreneurial progress.

Entertaining Angels - Hebrews 13:2

Angels are real heavenly creatures (spirits) assigned by God to minister to the heirs of salvation (Hebrews 1:14).

They are classified into different classes and minister using different methods depending on their classification.

Humans are not angels, though some classes of angels can "appear" as humans.

This is where we engage with the admonition to entertain strangers because we may be in the presence of angels.

I've had an occasion when I entertained the presence of a stranger but didn't realize God had sent an angel to assist me until after he finished helping me and pretty much disappeared.

We commonly refer to people as being an "angel" when they have assisted us in an unusual way or unexpectedly.

We know the person isn't a heavenly creature.

Still, we also know they lifted our life with the assistance they provided, especially when we didn't have any idea they carried the blessing we needed at that particular moment.

This idea fueled this presentation of the Financiers’ Forum flyer - using the silhouettes for the speakers.

I want you and others to see these silhouettes as representations of God's angelic support for the Forum attendees.

Strolling down memory lane…

when my life as an author and publisher started at the same time in 2007.

The NAACP event was hosted in Detroit, MI, and my marketing expert talked me into securing a booth to sell my books.

It was a great day and even more fond memories.
