At 11:30pm on April 26, we are completely elated to report that ALL Saturday events – our 10K, half marathon and full marathon – ARE ON!

Since early this afternoon, our Race Operations Center team has been working tirelessly to arrive at this outcome. We’ve been in constant communication with our partners in the public sector and law enforcement. We’ve explored a variety of ways to still bring this event to fruition - from course rerouting, time adjustments, manpower from other agencies across the state, and so many more.

After remarkable steps spearheaded by Governor J. B. Pritzker and the Illinois State Police in conjunction with the Cities of Champaign and Urbana, we were able to pull together the law enforcement staff needed for us to hold a safe and secure event.

We are THRILLED to welcome you all to the starting line tomorrow morning…and we’ll be waiting for you at the 50-yard line of Memorial Stadium as you make your triumphant arrival at the finish line.

We will host a press conference in the coming days to discuss the remarkable unfolding of events that it took to make this possible and to recognize the incredible people who made this possible when we thought all hope for our event was lost.
