Good afternoon! With all the rain we have been receiving, I have been out and about collecting photos, information, etc. If you have any "interesting" or even "not so interesting" photos, send them our way so we can include them in the June 26 edition of Central Dakota Times. If you have pictures of young (or even old ones) playing in the rain, be sure to provide the information, location, etc. You may e-mail them to [email protected]. Thank you so much and have a great weekend.

What a way to start our week! Double trouble – with April Fools Day on Monday along with a heavy, wet snowstorm that made its way through the area. And now, on Tuesday, April 2, we have late starts for several schools. Here's what we have, Chamberlain Schools, Crow Creek Tribal Schools, Kimball, Lower Brule and Lower Brule Sioux Tribe will start two hours late. Crow Creek Head Start will run two hours late as well as Early Head Start, with staff to report at 9:30 a.m. Lyman School will start at 10 a.m. White Lake has announced a 10 a.m. start time, with no preschool, no junior kindergarten and no breakfast. Be safe out there! Drive defensively. The roads have a bit of a glaze on them and the gravel roads are not the best.

Good snowy Friday morning! Here's what we have for delays this morning – Lower Brule Schools and Lower Brule Sioux Tribe will be two hours late. Lyman Schools will start at 10 a.m. If you're out and about, be safe.

Good Friday morning! If you are traveling to and fro, take your time. Coming to work this morning, the roads were a tad bit slippery. Crow Creek Tribal Schools and the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe will have a two-hour late start today. Be safe out there!

Hello! Well, the press was able to be repaired and we headed out early this morning to hit all the post offices and make our in-store deliveries. We are not sure what day you will receive your paper but we are hoping for the best. Thanks for your patience. We love our CDT family. If you have to venture out, be safe – that blowing snow is not fun to drive in.

It's warming up so happy Wednesday! Just a heads-up, our printing press is broke. Plans are to have the parts available this morning and hopefully be up printing late this afternoon or Thursday morning. With that said, this week's edition of Central Dakota Times is still coming to your mailbox or for pickup – it will just be later than usual. We apologize for the inconvenience.

With the sub-zero temps we are experiencing around the area, please take a moment to open the cabinets or vanity doors under the sinks in your house to expose the plumbing to heat. This is especially important for sinks that are located on the exterior walls of your house. Do yourself a favor and save yourself a service call for frozen pipes...open the cabinet doors now! Stay warm and stay safe today.
