TOMMIE DOBIE BOTHWELL ELEMENTARY

"When Celina Independent School District (CISD) had the task of naming its new elementary school, numerous names were nominated. In fact, according to CISD, there were over sixty names submitted to the naming committee. While all were deserving, the committee knew there was only one choice: Tommie Dobie Bothwell.
The new elementary school, located in the Cambridge Crossing neighborhood and the Dobie Family farmland, was home to Tommie Jean Dobie Bothwell literally since her birth. When Tommie was an infant, her father passed away leaving Tommie’s mother to raise her and her two sisters alone, plus manage the farm. Tommie attended school in Celina sometimes arriving to school on a buggy."

Building Celina: First State Bank Supports Local Businesses And Residents

"Celina’s First State Bank has successfully provided businesses with a great number of resources in its two years as a local branch. As mentioned, Chad Anderson and Natasha Hickman are long-time residents of Celina, with Chad being a long-time local banker. Chad references that the bank worked to aid local downtown businesses like Annie Jack Boutique, Granny’s Bakery, and Valley Vines. First State Bank partnered with Celina’s EDC to create a private-public partnership allowing the businesses to create their retail space and open their dream business. This sustained the Downtown Celina revitalization, a direct consequence of Chad’s experience serving on the Celina City Council for nine years. During that time, Chad and the council acted to create a vibrant plan to help small businesses in town stay profitable, attract new businesses, and, of course, invigorate downtown to what we all know and love today."

The Wick: The Hands & Heart Behind Celina’s New Locally-Crafted Home For Delicious & Nutritious Dining

The menu was collaboratively designed by both Cleve and Kim, crafted to incorporate food items that are both nutritional and delicious, and Cleve has assumed the role as head chef, as he says they like to call him. The Wickliffes pride themselves in their blue-zone-initiative business model: they don’t buy food; they buy ingredients. From the bread to the cinnamon rolls, to the pasta noodles, nothing is bought premade, and all of their food is made in-house. Maple syrup, syrups in the cocktails, and dressing for the salads are also made in-house. In fact, the only two items that are ever frozen are ice cream and ice cubes for old fashioneds. Kim says everything is fresh and handcrafted.
