Got the invite to join Ryan & Theo for my first Sturgeon fishing and it did not disappoint!!! With Ryan’s expertise I hooked up into my 1st ever then 2nd and 3rd. Theo & Ryan ( mostly Theo this kid is amazing 🤩!) landed a bunch too and we had an amazing first day back on the open water. Even a couple of Lake Chubs, big one at a whopping 17 inches! Donald Vaughn of Henderson County, Illinois with a whopper of a buck back in 1960 and two days before Halloween.

Buck came in at 306 pounds and scored 170 points. 😲

Here is Mr. Fox & Mrs. Evelyn and they have been Hunting together for 76 seasons. Mr. Fox is 91 years old and pictured here with Mrs. Evelyn and a buck they harvested this past season. Congrats to both of them.

Some Funny Fishing Clips - Get ready to laugh!!

Can you see the tiny little bites?? Smelt fishing is so much fun! It was windy and cold but I had the day off so time to get on the ice. I’m continuing to learn so much about varying ice conditions. Todays lesson - check what time is high tide, as the water rises the shore ice becomes submerged and slushy especially when its early or late season ice, which can make it extremely challenging to get off the ice safely. A fellow fisherman who was leaving warned me that the tide was coming up, so I left with him. We had to find a safer exit point about 30 feet away from where we got on, luckily not too far!!
