I started the year doing something I truly love—helping songwriters realize their dream of having their song(s) professionally produced.

Liz Kindig came up to Little Big North from rural PA with songs in her heart and on her voice notes. Though she doesn’t play an instrument and had never been in a recording studio, she has a lovely voice and a bunch of great, Appalachian-inspired songs. She spent 3 nights in the cabin and 3 days in the studio.
On day one, we worked out keys and tempos, and made charts. The next day, I laid down guitar, mandolin and percussion tracks and Liz went for a hike on the Kaaterskill rail trail before laying down her vocals. Finally, on day three, we mixed down four beautiful tracks!
