This is a photo of my booth from 2018 at the Festival of the Little Hills in St. Charles, Missouri. It was always a great show as long as the rain stayed away. One year I swear it was the hottest day of the year.

Six years ago today we were in St. Charles, Missouri. We have been talking about craft shows every Thursday night. These trucks we sold 1100 of them from August to December in 2018. You can see from this post we took 138 and sold out so that was $4,140 for just the one item at $30 each. The tutorial is coming soon so you can make your own trucks.

This Scarecrow Door Hanger has been my best selling scarecrow since early 2000. Each year we took 50-75 to each of our shows and they usually sold out. I still sell these on Etsy and the listing hasn't changed since 2019. I have sold the pattern and over 200 people have purchased the tutorial.

Last night when we were talking about craft shows we talked about the benefit of selling multiples. Here is a picture of 100 snowman heads laying in our yard. We normally sold out of these at every show. At $35 a piece that would be $3500. That doesn't include all the other items we were selling.

The fear of mssing out is real. They may not even think that they need one but buy one because so many people are purchasing them. Personalizing was key to this product.

I saw this on Facebook today and just had to repost. I went 48 hours without coffee and today I had to give in :). But on the other hand the grandkids went back to school I cleaned the bedroom, vacuumed and threw away two big bags of junk. Welcome back Coffee!!!!

Selling Online!!!

I recently went to a retreat and was surprised at how many crafters don't know about selling online. Of course craft shows have their advantages but so do online sales. The biggest thing they would say is but you have to ship all that stuff. Countering that statement with its probably less time than setting up and tearing down a craft booth.

Inside Virtual Home Decor Marketplace we still have sellers who sell at craft shows but they also sell online. Back in the day when I did craft shows, I had to make it there to make money whether there were family gatherings we missed, being sick, etc. It would have been so nice to know that I didn't have to wait until the next show to make money.

Its mid August and one of our sellers sent me this message today. Isn't that incredible to make money like that in two 30 minute sales.

Here's a project we worked on last week for our Trash to Treasure project inside Painting for Profits. (Actually they weren't trash but bags from Dollar Tree. I painted one for a sample and then all the ideas started piling up so made one for each of the grandkid's teachers.

We are filling then with big bags of Skittles and extra school supplies.

I've been missing in action for a couple days and my schedule may be off now and then as I help my daughter who is due August 28th with preparing to bring a new grandchild into the world. These two are excited. I took them shopping and out to eat and totally wore me out after a few hours :).
