Youth rodeo series starts February 15 in Florence!

🔥The points buckle championship series starts on 2/15 @ 4pm! Located at the Charles Whitlow Arena in Florence, Az

💪🌟🔥We had some fierce competition in all divisions with points being so close! Will we have returning champions? Or will someone else be claiming the title?
💥Remember- top 5 get paid invitations to the 93rd Annual Florence Jr Parada thanksgiving weekend! For mutton riders, this is huge because mutton is not open registration, you MUST have an invite in order to ride in the jr Parada!

A guided hike and birdwatching coming up at Picacho Peak State Park!

This Weekend at Picacho Peak State Park!

Saturday, February 8th: Join a park guide on the Hunter Trail and enjoy 360-degree views from the top of Picacho Peak. This is a challenging hike that involves steep switchbacks, rock scrambles, climbing up several cableways, and an elevation change of 1,600 feet. Please bring at least 3 liters of water per person, closed-toe hiking shoes, and a head covering. No children under 10 and no dogs. Sign-up is required, you can sign up on our website or by calling the visitor center at (520)466-3183. Meet at the Hunter Trailhead at 8 A.M.

Also Saturday, February 8th: Join Ranger Ethan in a 30-minute short loop around the Sage Ramada as we identify the many types of cacti you can find at the park, including the famous saguaro. There will be time after the program to ask further questions. Meet at the Sage Ramada at 10 A.M.

Sunday, February 9th: Walk the trails with one of our rangers and learn of the many birds inhabiting the Sonoran Desert region! You may be able to see the quick yet beautiful Anna’s hummingbird or even catch a glimpse of the majestic red-tailed hawk. There are all sorts of birds in our deserts that we will help you find. During this short hike, the rangers will help you identify, find, and log each bird you see. So bring your binoculars and some water! Meet at Harrington Loop at 10 A.M.
