“Just use AI” is terrible advice. 🚫 Especially if you’re good at what you do.

This week’s Productivity Prompt is designed for people who don’t want another AI pep talk.

Instead of pushing adoption, it helps you:

🧠 See your work more clearly
⏱️ Spot where time is leaking (and where it’s not)
🤝 Separate judgment from production
🧭 Decide—on your own terms—where AI actually helps (or doesn’t)

No hype.
No pressure.
Just a structured way to find one change worth making.

📚 We've shared this week’s edition in the carousel—give it a swipe and try it yourself.

Read this week’s full edition and stay tuned—a new drop lands tomorrow! 👀

If you’ve been skeptical about AI but curious enough to look honestly… this one’s for you.

AI just broke the way expertise signals value. 🚨 And most organizations haven’t noticed yet.

In 1970, economist George Akerlof explained why used-car markets fail:
When quality becomes impossible to verify, trust collapses.
Good sellers exit. Only “lemons” remain.

💥 AI has recreated that problem—across every knowledge profession.

When a strategy doc that once took weeks can be generated in 30 seconds, the output stops proving anything about the expertise behind it.

📉 The result? Signal collapse.

👉81% of U.S. workers still report minimal AI use
👉Highly accomplished professionals are actively resisting AI
👉A $290K Deloitte AI report collapsed under fabricated citations
👉A senator publicly said the government would’ve been better off with a ChatGPT subscription

That’s not an AI failure.
That’s a human signaling failure.

🔍 The insight that matters: AI makes production cheap.
👉 Human judgment becomes the scarce resource.

What still signals value:

🧠 Knowing what to do vs. what’s possible
🎯 Taste, judgment, and accountability
🤝 Trust built over time
🔍 Verification, context, and reputation at stake

As we head into 2026, the real question is no longer:

❌ “How do we adopt AI?”
✅ “How do we credibly signal human value when production costs approach zero?”

This week’s edition breaks down:
🔍Why AI resistance is rational, not fear-based
🔍What signaling theory explains about today’s AI backlash
🔍What still can’t be automated (and how to make it visible)
🧰 The AI Toolbox + a hands-on productivity prompt you can use immediately

Read the full deep dive in The Artificially Intelligent Enterprise and subscribe to stay ahead of the AI game!

The resistance isn't irrational—it's an evolved response to signals becoming cheap

If you’re in the Triangle tech community, this is one of those nights you don’t want to miss! 🤖🚀😱

On January 13, All Things Open Spacewalk takes over the IMAX stage for an evening focused on AI and what really matters as we head into 2026. You’ll hear from 5–6 world-class speakers, each sharing the one big thing they believe the audience should be paying attention to right now.

Each talk is 10 minutes, presented on the giant IMAX screen, making this a genuinely unique (and very cool) experience—fast-paced, high signal, and visually immersive.

The speaker lineup already includes:
1. Mark Hinkle, CEO & Founder, Peripety Labs; Co-Founder, All Things AI
2. Nithya Ruff, Head of Amazon Open Source Program Office; Chair, Linux Foundation Board
3. Robert Thelen, CEO & Co-Founder, LlamaFarm
4. Andre Lassiter, Managing Partner, MS3IT Business Solutions
5. Eli “the Computer Guy” Etherton, Silicon Dojo

And yes—there are a few surprises still coming. 👀

All Things Open also uses Spacewalk to announce the upcoming year’s ATO schedule, showcase a world-class program, and give away some genuinely great swag.

🕠 Doors open at 5:30 pm ET for networking, food, and drinks
🎬 Live programming starts at 6:30 pm ET sharp in the IMAX theater
🍻Free pizza, drinks, and lots of swag (shirts, hats, stickers)—but arrive early if you want to snag something.

If you care about where AI is headed and want to connect with the Triangle’s AI community, we’d love to see you there!
