Due to Monday’s impending weather, the staff here at the Carthage Courier have made the decision to alter the deadline for next week’s January 18 dated issue.

The revised deadline for the January 18 issue will be this Wednesday, January 10 at 2:00 p.m. Our printer does not print on Fridays - Saturdays - or Sundays, therefore to guarantee delivery to us here in Carthage, this adjusted deadline is necessary.

We apologize for any inconvenience, but we are choosing to err on the side of caution for the safety of both our staff and the driving safety of our printer in delivering the newspaper to us.This deadline will include all columnists, news items and advertising items.

Missing a few but the girls wanted to go to the beach after the game today. Coach and a few others took the plunge into the cold water. Ready for a team night of fun tonight.

Long day of traveling but the Tigers and Tigerettes are in Pensacola. Had a team meal tonight, looking forward to the games tomorrow. Tigers play at 2:30pm central time and the Tigerettes follow them at 4:00pm central time at Gulf Breeze High School. Both games should be on the NFHS network.

With Christmas Day & New Years Day falling on Mondays this year, combined with an adjustment in printer production schedules, the following deadlines will be in effect for the upcoming Courier issues.

December 27 (Wednesday - 1:00 PM)Advertising & News Items for January 4 issue.

The Courier Office will be closed Dec. 25 & 26 & Jan. 1 The annual Courier Christmas Greetings & Santa Letters will appear in the December 21 issue— in time for delivery to Santa!

At halftime of the Lady Owls game on December 16th against Gordonsville. The 1973 Lady Owls State tournament team and the 1978 Lady Owls Substate teams will both be introduced for their 50th and 45th anniversary of their teams.
